Day 12 and it's tough......but I'm hanging in there....only to be told by some 'friend' that I haven't given up smoking as i'm CHEATING using patches
unhelpful comments....: Day 12 and it's tough... - No Smoking Day
unhelpful comments....
**** the haters
dont listen
Everyone chooses to quit when THEY are ready, in a way THEY are ready to choose NOONE can judge as its personal!!
i chose to do patches for 3 weeks and then ct (i also need to thread about my cheat) more about that later.
it is not cheating its being sensible and making sure this quit sticks and it makes it more manageable for you to achieve.
lets look up to penthouse and sticking 2 fingers up to that kind of negativity!!!
never quit quitting

With friends like that ......................etc.
Day 12 is excellent. You are over the worst, so keep your chin up and ignore bitchy comments...
I think a 'helping hand' is a pretty fair way to look at patches.
And the helping hand from patches is more constructive than your friends comment.
It's their opinion and one your free to ignore. Your quit however is your quit and any which way that gets you off the smokes is good
Stick with it ... it's taken a lot of effort and strength to get to where you currently are, congrats to your for that
humbugs....
Thanks guys.....she was lucky I had my smiley face n not my 'I wanna kill someone cuz I've just given up smoking face'
onwards n upwards...... :0)
The day you stop putting a lit ciggy in your mouth and never lighting up again then you have quit smoking, if it doesnt smoke then neither do you.
Maybe this lady doesnt smoke but she is jealous of your strength of character, is she a work mate or some one that fancied you and you didnt take the bait?
Well done you, Mr None smoker
As far as I'm concerned you quit when you stopped smoking ciggies....They're the things that do the damage after all and you still need to have willpower to stop smoking when using NRT and champix. As for your friend just be sarcastic and say thanks for your lovely comment and you'll do the same back for them when they need support
Hello Michellopy SmokeStop
I stopped smoking using patches and don't consider it cheating at all. Cheating would be having a sneaky puff or cigarette here and there. Using the patches helped take the edge off not smoking thereby enabling me to concentrate on breaking the psychological habit.
BTW, the good news is you don't always end up completing the programme. I didn't bother after 1 week of the 14mg (week 5/6) and used the inhalator when I had any major cravings and that even petered out and haven't used it all in the last month. Better to use your own method of quitting and succeeding....... and I do agree with the poster who said with friends like that ......

Michelle
you doing well and let nobody take that away from you .
I stopped with NTR . It does get to me a bit when people
coming out with such rubbish. Must be something wrong with them but
it's their problem and not yours. You keep going and stick around
here with people who will support you , no matter what.
Hi Michellopy your doing very well, and I gave up the same date as yourself so lets keep quit together.
And ignore them people who think NRT is a cigarette, they need to live in the real word.
All the best:D:D

Ive been getting comments too from people saying how long will i quit for this time and you may be finding it easy now but wait till your a couple of months down the line and you will crumble
I just come on here and talk to people that want to support me and know what im going though.
Well Done on your quit you are doing a fine job x
a different day
Morning guys...... another day.... ur support on here is huge and makes this whole process easier.....when I'm wobbling I jump on this forum like a woman possessed ha ah
Have my first 'wanna shout at the kids day' :0( struggling to be civil......DAY 13 u suck.......ugh
Michelle
well done for stopping smoking as some of the others have said wtf is some peoples problem with using nrt its an aid to use and as long as you quit what difference does it matter as to those that turn round and come out with unhelpful comments like "how long will it last this time"
i loathe people that say negative things they obviously dont understand or ignore if they are smokers themselves that they are still addicts and are scared of you chainging if you stop smoking
i always used to think there were 2 types of people in the world smokers and none smokers now i realise there are 4
actually none smokers - smokers - ex smokers that have had to give up because they were put under pressure by either doctors or family/OHs
and people that choose to give up because thats what they want to do they choose not to smoke to help with all aspects of there lives regardless of how they do it
and you should hold your head up with pride because you have achieved something alot of people cant or wont do and are just jealous of you stopping
also just think of all the money that your not giving the government for every pack of baccy or ciggys you used to buy
onwards and upwards
Thanks Carol ... There's nowt so queer as folk eh... I think you're vulnerable at times during this epic journey.... coming on here provides the security blanket.... Knowing that somebody else has been through the same thing....
Michelle
Thats like saying you havent really lost the use of your leg because you have a crutch.
Grrrrrrrrrrr, grrrrrrrrrrr, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr is all i can think of to say to these people.
xoxoxoxox
I'm definitely with jamangie on this - unless you are rolling up and smoking the patches, you have quit!
And for those who say 'and how long will this last', just ask them what difference it makes to them / why they are so interested. Do it in a genuine way rather than sarky and they'll probably be stuck for words.
