I'm only on day 25 - my only previous quit started in July 2001 and, after a fairly stable and calm 10 months, collapsed for reasons I am still not sure I understand, in April 2002. It has taken me over 9 years to try again. So, for what it's worth, my advice is " stick with it".

Hi

I had exactly the same a couple of weeks ago. Really strong urges to smoke. It last for about 5 days and now i'm back to not even thinking about them. It's strange because they were really strong urges and i've not been like that since the first few weeks. It will pass.

Yep, me too :(

As others i'm riding them out but they can be very annoying this far in to the quit

 its just that nasty nicorette demon trying it out hoping that a sudden few days of yearning will confuse you and give into the temptation of having one or more sadly it will try every trick to tempt you back just remember your reasons and ignore it

by the way

WELL DONE ON BEING SMOKE FREE

Um, yes, me too. :(

Do you think it might be the change of season? I know we all had this when the nice weather started again, and the cravings jumped up to bite us because we had so many memories of smoking in the garden, etc. Maybe it's just a new set of associations we didn't even know we had starting up because of the autumn/winter season and its associated festivities?

I think I should point out for the benefit of the quitters in the early weeks - don't freak out because this is still happening months down the line! These days do crop up now and then, but it's not the same as the early cravings. They're just thoughts, admittedly sometimes quite powerful ones, but we know they can be and will be beaten, and they don't hold the same fear any more.

We just have to keep making that conscious choice, every day, and remind ourselves that to give in to a passing urge will be the death of our quit. Which NONE of us want.

Keep on keeping on!!
