ahhh big hugs to you :)

some days are going to be harder then others but over time they will get easier so just try and remember the reasons why you have quit and keep your hands and mind busy when you get these cravings as thats is what they are at the end of the day but they will get weaker that nicorette demon will try its best to lure you back but you have to be strong and say no to anymore and if thats not enough just think of how much money you are saving and not giving the goverment each time you buy a pack

Was just having a severe wobble, finding it difficult as no one around me has been through this before, i am three weeks from being qualified as a health trainer, and couldnt healthtrain others into non smoking if i was still a smoker, although i was ready to give up smoking, i didnt realise how difficult it was,had two weeks which were fairly easy, week three sux!

I have to praise this site as i have searched for two months for anything to do with quiting smoking, this seems to be the only one that can turn a frown upside down:)

Keep with it Jenni, it'll get easier. Day 18 is amazing and you don't want to blow it now. Giving up is emotional...lots of times being happy, proud, feeling ok, feeling lousy, looking like shit, crying all the time, not feeling "all quite there", fuzzy head. The list goes on....but things have got better since those first few days haven't they? I know they have, so if you can get through Day's 1-7 you can get through this. Tomorrow is another day...onwards and upwards. We're all in this together so we know how you feel. Be easy on yourself, spoil yourself, you're doing great.

Hi Jenni,

Loads of people go through this at about three weeks. When you start out on the quit you're prepared to feel crappy for a few days, and you're kind of on a high just to get through every day. But what most of us aren't prepared for is the feeling of depression that hits when the initial thrill wears off, and you start to adjust to the fact that you're in it for the long haul.

Stay positive. Quitting smoking isn't a journey that's over in a few days. It's an ongoing process of retraining your subconscious not to want to smoke any more. Sometimes the psychological cravings can be just as strong as physical ones, but you have to face them down and remember that with every passing day it does get easier and easier. Hard to believe when you're down, but it really is true, I promise.

See if you can find something really nice to cheer yourself up. Blow the money you've saved on a fabulous pair of shoes - go out for a fancy dinner with someone - create your own 'spa' evening at home - plan a holiday with the money you've saved. Or just eat a huge slice of chocolate fudge cake. Big up yourself - you've come a long way and you deserve to be proud and happy.

Hope you feel better soon!

Dearheart, What day are you on now? What method are you using to curb the cravings? Are you going cold turkey? Man..I have a ways to go to catch up with you, but I too face the public, and I don't want to feel like S**t! Maybe using a lozenge to give your body what it wants for the moment would help? Best of luck!
