I'd compare it more to a rope ladder with the people at the top trying to pull all the people below them up to safety.

When you get to a year you know stopping smoking is the easiest "hard" thing you'll ever do.

Hi Wynnie, sorry to hear you are leaving us, can I ask Y.

I like your definition of the Penthouse and yes you are right, like Santa it doesn’t exist in reality(stop crying everyone I am sure that if you are quitting smoking you must have realised by now that he is not real)but it’s a great way to give each and every one another destination to strive for in there quit.

I hope you do well and that even if in your eyes you are not heading for the Penthouse that you find your way to the top of the rope ladder, without meeting too many on the way back down of course.

sorry to hear your leaving us but it doesnt need to be forever i had to have a break from here but came back and even though things are still harsh in my personal life ive managed to get a grip

coming back here and starting to post again is given me such a boost (we know its not a real penthouse as in something you can touch or see but with imagination its there)

I knew this was going to happen, I bet you have been throwing yourself around the room in a right strop I have made an appointment with the Santa councillor for you so you can deal with this, the next thing you know someone will be coming on and saying there is a tooth fairy, actually I think there might be as when I was a kid I always got money left under my pillow and I know for certain it wasn’t my Mum, was it.

There is of course a Nicco Demon because he used to visit me when I first quit, don’t see him any more (not often anyway) thank goodness

Absolutely, there is nothing better than kicking leaves or kicking but LOL who ever said that when you reach a certain age its time to dress in crimpolene (ok so thats not good to remember that is it) I love the wind and rain and will buy some fleece lined jeggings, I think we should have a party in the Penthouse and every one can come like in an open day to see where they are heading.

:eek: does crimpolene still exist scary thought if it did i always told my girls that if i started wearing really bright flowery nylon skirts or twinsets with pearls to shoot me there and then as i would have turned into an old person or and a blue rinse

that seemed to be a theme for women over a certain age when i was growing up especially an aunt of mine who thinking about it was even younger then me when she wore those outfits :eek:

im not trying to scare you but that demon will always be with you no matter how long you go without giving in he will at certain points like when your upset stressed or even worse he gets you to think that one wont hurt now as you have been given up for so long and then he will hook you again i know some people can get away with having the odd cigerette and not blink an eyelid but for most that one will lead to another and another but if you do give into its demands dont think thats it means you have to smoke again most of the time though if you do have a drag you will most probably start coughing and think wtf is that horrible taste and put it out

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK I know what you mean looking back at the way my Mum dressed when she was close to my age is scary, I dress how I feel comfortable and to be honest if I wanted to wear a mini skirt even now I would and be happy, I am not over keen on them though and never was so don’t think I will bother, well not for going out in Hee Hee.

As for me ever smoking I don’t think I will, I except the fact that even after this time span I will always be vulnerable so the Nicco Demon and he will always be on my shoulder, I just want listen to him, actually I want be able to hear him because the heavy rock music will be too loud for me to be able to.

As for the ladder I meant that we have to remember that on our way up its easy to forget the ones that sadly are going down and we mustn’t tread on their fingers as we may come back down and would like others to treat us the way we would be happy with, does that make sense, not really I know but that’s the best wording I can think of at the moment.

As for having one puff, that is not an option for me as I know I would smoke again guaranteed and so would most quitters, this is something maybe one in a million could do and I am not one of them and wouldn’t want to be, my health scare was enough to make me smoke if I was going to and I am not, for sure LOL
