Who's Spartacus? 
Spartacus was a Greek slave who led a rebellion, when the authoritoes came to arrest him he was amongst a large crowd of other slaves. When the bad guys asked which one of them was Spartacus one by one they all claimed to be.
Hence "I am Spartacus" , "no, I am Spartacus.
It's all about strength in numbers
