Well done Monroe for making the decision to give it another go.

Try and think of another way to deal with stressful situations ('cus they ain't going to go away!)

What do non-smokers do? um.. don't know the answer to that (yet!), but they don't have a fag!!

Oh and wrinkles...my tactful colleague keeps saying to me..."your skin looks better" ..gee...thanks..you mean I looked terrible before!

But not smoking DOES make your skin better...less grey and weary and starved of oxygen

Good luck on day 1

Hi and welcome monroe

Im sure all of us on here have had more than one attempt at quitting, the good thing is that none of us has given up giving up.

Like you I am hoping that my skin will get better, Ive had loads of people tell me that its looking better already, however I had a little trick up my sleeve.

Now I know this is naughty but this is what I did. I had been reading up on the net about ways to get rid of fine lines and wrinkles and kept coming across something called retinol-a. Retinol a is in a lot of beauty products at the moment but obviously not at a medicinal level, so anyway I read that it can only be prescribed by a dermotoligist or a doctor. They prescribe it for acne. So I got myself off to the doctor, pointed at the spots I had on my forehead, told them I had tried everything but I thought I had adult acne and after a bit of push and pull I was prescribed it. You have to be careful and follow the doctors instructions and it does make your skin worse before it gets better as it takes off a layer of your skin (gently) it reveals all the horrors beneath. Anyway its starting to work for me now. If getting it from your doctor isnt an option then skin doctors gamma hydroxy is good too, I used that first but was impatient.

I think that because I see a difference in my complexion that is one of the reasons that has helped me to stay quit.

Sorry for the big post but I really do wish you well.

Good luck
