sorry to hear this joanna, i've been on and off most of my life, and in recent years every time i tired to quit i would fail. i always used nrt but that didn't help. now i'm determined to do it cold turkey but i feel awful today, really bad as the day draws to an end. felt even emotional because i just raised my voice at my sister:(((( i think it's because i don't smoke, i'm becoming irritable, and well what usually made this better in the past, having a smoke...
don't give up though, it's good that you are still in the quit mood and say tomorrow will be your day one! means a lot, i've been in situations like that too many times, but now i hope i can do it. i think maybe you become more and more determined each time. it's like the failings can potentially make you stronger
Sorry to hear that JO, its a sometimes two steps forward and one step back kind of dance this nicotine quitting tango. just remember the next dance YOU lead ,it follows. practise makes permanent. learn from your mistakes and keep going'
Thank you faor your lovely replies (I dont deserve them!!!)
Im going to get there I too have tried so many times im thinking cold turkey may be the way forward Im off work this week so it may be better nothing to stress at!!
Ive lost count of the times I have given up and started again. My quits ranged from an hour to a month, the month was the longest I have ever gone. So the point is not that you have failed but that you went 2 weeks this time, you have proved to yourself that you can do it. Just make sure you are doing it for you, not to save money or because you feel that it unacceptable socially because you will only really quit if its for you and you really want it.
