Hello everyone, just thought i'd post as am new here.
Really need to stop smoking now, they are costing me a fortune, esp as I am a single mum!
I have every single excuse under the sun but I know this can not go on much longer
I am a habit smoker,do it when bored and do have a tendancy to chain smoke, as in 4-5 in a row esp at night when I am bored and girls in bed..Never smoke at work(am a nurse)...
So I am thinking of going cold turkey as have tried everything else with no avail...
Any way, enough waffling,
Magda

The cost involved is horrendous now I quite agree. The good thing is though that your saving mount up very quickly, well mine, don't as I didn't have the money to buy them really anyway  I have saved £32 of money I didn't have already and only part way through day 6
Do this any way that feels good and right for you. I am using NRT (again) as I could not do it CT. So long as the outcome is not smoking that is all that matters
Best Wishes for your quit. You can and will do it if you remain strong and take one day at a time. When you reach a week and beyond believe me it gets easier for most.douglas.j...p.s not only will you save a heap-your health will improve a heap.
magda - ignore that James character, he/she is yet another in a long line of salespeople who sign up, pretend to have an interest but are really here to market their product, on other threads they've attached a website that no doubt provides them with income for hits/sales.
Don't be put off/demorilised, everyone is different, but for the vast majority it gets easier as time goes by.
Thanks Horse, I'm really not bothered by his comment, just another troll i suspect,i don't care, i know this will be hard but it's all in my state of mind and i feel good
God for you Magda - and you are right, it is all about your state of mind. You get that right and you have cracked it. If you waiver or wobble, read as much as you can on these boards and the fantastic links that lots of contributors have on their signatures. There's so much help and support - we've all been there!
I'm only on my second month but i firmly believe i will never smoke again and if you knew me, you would not think that i took to quitting as well as i have. It's all about positive thinking and arming yourself with as much info and support as you can. If the CT isn't for you, dont' feel guilty about asking for help in the way of NRT and do remember that the NHS are heavily supporting quitters - you of all people probably know that really well!
