Hello all, a few details, I have been smokefree for 143 days, ( the last couple of days i have been thinking about having a smoke ) although i never usually crave a smoke anymore, i think it is the warm weather and the thoughts of summer approaching that is throwing me a bit, today i woke up convinced i had screwed up my quit, and was a smoker again, a horrible thought. this will be my first summer in the last 30 that i WILL be a non smoker, is it normal to get cravings approaching 6 months quit, is anyone have similiar thoughts.
Tempted: Hello all, a few details, I have... - No Smoking Day

Alan, there have been so many posts recently from people 4/5/6 months quit saying exactly the same as you - and that includes me. You're certainly not alone! The nice weather brings up lots of memories of happy times in the sunshine, and since we always had a fag during those pub outings, bbqs, holidays etc it's a big and unexpected trigger for all of us! But that's all it is - just another trigger. Keep on going and after a few weeks it'll be normal not to think about smoking in the sunshine, just as it's now normal not to think about smoking at home, in the car or whatever.
Stay strong!
H
Hello Allan and well done on your quit; I gather that there will always be triggers for us smokers and that they may lessen, but will never go away. The warm weather... birthday..Christmas...holidays.... I myself think I may begin drinking heavily this summer obliterated I just may not notice my 26 lb. gain and my tummy stuck hanging out of my shorts
