Never got this far before!

Day 21 has dawned, and I'm still (just about!) smoke free! Had a very definite wobble on Wednesday (tearful, fag in hand!), but managed to keep going.

Week 3 has always been the problem for me - that initial glow of pride has worn off, and it just feels like hard going. Up to now, I've always succumbed, so I'm feeling quite chuffed that I've broken that 3 week psychological barrier - or will have by the end of the day ;)

On the down side, hubby got made redundant yesterday, which is pretty rubbish really!! But, smoking won't help him get a new job, will it??? :)

Hoping that Week 4 will be better!!

well done sarah on making it nearly to the end of week 3,i think you have just to see that a fag will not change anything at all it will make things worse, well for a start it would financially and then you would be so mad at yourself,so keep going i am sure things will get better and before you know it you will be through another week, good luck and best wishes,

cathx:)

Hi Sarah, you are not JUST ABOUT SMOKE FREE you ARE smoke free and I hope you have made it to tonight. Week three is one of the worst times one of he so called three's, day 3, week 3 and month 3. Month 3 is different it is a difficult time but in a different way.

Get that glow of pride back because now you deserve it more than ever. Three weeks is a small step for mankind but a massive step for Sarah.

Sarah don't use you husband being made reduntant as a excuse to smoke because if you do smoke because of this it will only be an excuse and not a reason. As you said your self it won't change the fact he has been made redundant, Im sorry this has happened. But it should not be a reason either I during my quit lost a sister, a brother, was dragged through court for months for somthing I did not do. Had problems with my daughter who was 15 at the time (No probs with her now). I also lost many hours of work around £4,500 in takings because of weather in the winters 2009-2010 and £6,000 in 2010-2011(I'm a driving instructor). I don't in any way want you to feel sorry for me because here I am now a non smoker. I'm just trying to say if I went through all that and still managed to stop, with your determination and wanting to you can stop smoking too.

Sarah look at this it may help

I hope you didn't give in Sarah

Hi Sarah,

I really hope you didn't give in and have one, I am only on day 11 and it is reading the stories of people who have got passed that stage that keep me going :)

I keep hearing about the 3's, can't really remember day 3 being any different to any of the other days when I first quit, I think I am still grumpy, tired and can't be bothered with anything, but I will keep going as you must.

Good luck :)
