9 weeks....

Hi all,

Not been around much as it is the school holidays so I am being kept busy running about after my 3. We gave in and let our youngest buy a rabbit on Tuesday with the last of her birthday/christmas money after months of nagging so we have been kept occupied all week.

Bit of an odd week. My patches went down on Monday and it took me until Wednesday to realise that I was eating HUGE amounts of everything! Have since tried to knock that on the head. I was always told addicts replace one addiction with another, I just never thought mine would be food

Had a slight wobble last night. I had family come for an overnight visit (they are back again next weekend but for a full week). They are/were both smokers and we have always smoked in the kitchen and sit around drinking anything and everything and playing cards until we forget who's go it is, lol. Anyway rewind to last night and my brother is still smoking but sister in law (SIL) gave up just after me (on champix). So husband and brother in and out every 5 mins smoking. I felt so left out except for the fact that my SIL wasn't smoking. God I missed it so much and really wanted to smoke. Carried on with the evening and after about 16 pint bottles of cider and the best part of a bottle of vodka and several flavoured vodka shots between us I really wanted to join them.

My SIL then rolled herself a fag and joined them. The temptation was huge but guess what? Instead of having one I just went out in the garden and joined them and had a chat! :D

I am so so happy as I got through it, I have been dreading them coming and we are going on holiday with them in August. I still love the smell of smoke so much but found just being out there with them was enough although I did eat 3 packs of pork scratchings and a packet of monster munch during their various breaks.:o

Hope everyone is ok and I will try and get on a bit more if I can this week x

well done chrissy, with the addition on alcohole that must have been hard to say no but you did it.

My DD wants a rabbit but we keep saying not until she is old enough to look after it all by herself (she is only 5) think I have about another 3 years of that excuse then i'll have to find something else lol

Well done to you again my lovely, be proud of yourself, thats an achievement :)

Yes I think it will make next week alot easier as I know I can do it now. :D

Levs - My daughter is only 5 too but so far is doing an excellent job, her brothers (8 &10) said they would help but haven't since the first day, lol I decided she had better have one now as if we leave it a couple of years she will still have it as a teenager when she most probably won't look after it :D

Mmmmm... Pork scratchings. Their very existence is proof that God loves us imo.

And of course they are the perfect shape to nestle into an elastic band with a view to pinging them at your mates if they don't take the hint that their smoking is doing your head in.

Well done on not caving.
