Almost passed day 4 and so far so good!

I'm actually feeling good. This time round i seem to have a huge positive outlook. Of course i get the cravings about 20 times a day, but i just take a deep breath and move on.

My days seem to start off with the big morning craving - To pass this i just look forward to my morning shower and teeth clean. Love the way i can smell my own aftershave and know i smell good all day long!

While i'm at work i'm busy most of the day - Hardest time of the day is after lunch. Luckily we have a ice cold water dispenser in the office. I'm sure i drink a barrel a day! I also keep extra strong mints with me and munch through them all day.

After work seems to be the hardest time of the day. Here i play Football Manager (my beloved game) it keeps my mind away from the cravings (unless my team lose a game!) lol

And to finish the day i lay in bed and listen to podcasts and calming music. This helps to wake up feeling fresh and ready for the new day ahead.

I do feel good about this quit. I've tried many times. My best being 6 months. I'm trying to keep strong and stay positive through the first tough weeks. I know i can do it! Its just a stupid white stick and it WILL NOT BEAT ME!

"Its my body that craves the nicotine, not me! I know its not me because i decided to quit. And my body won't crave it in the future"

Well done Hanko. A positive attitude is a huge part of the battle and will see you through a lot of the cravings.

Keep going, stay strong, it's all worth it.

Well done on getting so far Hanko, give yourself a really big pat on the back the first days of the quit journey are the hardest and the most daunting.

My worst time for smoking was first thing too - so had to make sure I kept busy first thing.

As to your other dodgy times, each time you don't give in another trigger is broken and the crave is lessened until in time it's just a little thought and nothing else.

As to managing to quitting for 6 months before, well done, so you've got some experience of what to expect you also have an idea of why you failed last time. Have a look at this reason and think of a way round it.

Just remember - why would you ever want to do this again?

Have a read of some of the links in my signature, education really is the key to success, understanding yourself and why you smoke is your biggest asset and the best way to be successful in your quit.

Good luck and I will look for you tomorrow - posting a day 5 post.

Werthers have been my saviour during this quit. Especially the chewy ones.
