I'm away for the weekend, down to Edinburgh and staying in a hotel. So weird... ever since I got here, I've been desperate for a smoke... no idea why. It's been weeks since I had one! What's going on?
Normally I can make sense of my cravings, but this is just strange.

Hope you manage to get through the rest of the weekend ok. I guess we are still experiencing new things whilst not smoking all the time so the cravings will keep reappearing. Stay strong and enjoy your weekend

Hey Fencer,
Hope the stay down here is going better today...you weren't expecting sun were you?
What's happening is that you are having a holiday and we are so condition to think that we can treat ourselves whilst on holiday. Part of your subconscious is nagging away telling you that. Hence the heavy craves. If you've managed to ignore the craves so far then you'll find that you are much stronger for it.
Thanks all. Just home now and made it through the weekend without smoking. It was just kinda weird and took me by surprise. Off to Glasgow in two weeks, but at least I'll be better prepared this time round. Thanks all!!!
I think once we get well established in our quit the craves are few and far between, but occasionally a new or unexpected situation can bring on a real humdinger, possibly the harder for being rarer. Thankfully our experience tells us that it will pass, even while our subconscious is throwing a strop.
