Hi Jeannie...today is awesome, woke up and really havent havent really thought of a morning smoke..each day is better, esp today. (though I bet I just jinxed myself.

They say, it takes three weeks to make a habit and weve the habit of not smoking so far!

Stay determined! :)

Really glad to see you are having such a good day today though :)

nsd_user663_24158 profile image
nsd_user663_24158

funny, Ive heard no complaints against cigs going up by .50p but tons of complaints about petrol only going down by .01p a liter.

can you imagine paying £7.00 a pack for Marlboro????

Yaaaaaaay week 3 day 16 for me to :):D;)

Marlborough = lung bleeders :D

I was a Silk Cut smoker and people always used to say they were like pretend cigarettes :D

The first cigarette I ever smoked was a capri....its a cigarette where the circumference is less than a normal size cigarette.

Ironically, there was a promotion pack in the mail one day, and I grabbed it before my parents got home, I smoked it (without inhaling) went to work that night, smoke it again, and someone was like..thats not how you smoke...try inhalling  That was me then hooked

I actually grew up in America, that were I got it in the mail...(I immigrated to Scotland btw) anyway, probably not...as a month later, I was haning out downtown and Marlboro was giving out Marlboro mediums in free samples this was aiimed at kids too.

Jaysus!!! Forndog...thats an amazing story and to be honest its hard to believe they would have handed out samples of ciggies to children.

Things werent even that bad in Ireland.......and believe me, things were/are backward here :D

Great to hear your having a good day!!! I had a large breakfast this morning and was "hanging" for a ciggie....still am to be honest but am getting over it:confused: I also slept in and was running out the door with boots untied and hair wet!!! Notice, I said, Running out the door......that wouldnt have happened 18 days ago!! Whoo hooo!!!!!:D

Takes me back Forndog, reminds me of when I was at school (in London) we use to get our cigs from a little sweet shop round the corner from school you could buy one cigarette for a couple of pence, he use to keep them on top of the counter in a wooden box for the kids to buy if they'd spent their pocket money and couldnt afford a pack of 10.... OMG can you imagine if that was today:eek:

That used to happen in my town too. I think there was one of those shops on every corner...damn them!!!!

My father used to give us 10p pocket money (for sweets) and we would buy a fag (and some sweets) before going back to school.......thats dreadful!!!!

Hi guys. Still here with the March quitters.

Glad that fags have gone up by 50p. The financial side of it was a big incentive for me to quit. My 'fag money' is building up nicely in a jar just beside me as I sit here typing.

I too used to buy single cigarettes when at school, but when I had my own pack of 20 I used to sell single ones to younger kids on the bus. Terrible I know - bit like a modern day drug dealer I suppose!!!
