Wow - that has gone so quickly!!!!

Doing great, only having a few thoughts about smoking, still not sleeping well. My dreams are still very vivid and are waking me up, I was arguing with my husband today after I sent him shopping for some BOGOF offers and he said they were not on offer. Turns out I must have dreamt it :D

My main issue still is food! I have realised that if I forget to change my patch I am eating lots, then after stuffing my face I realise I must have been having a craving which now I have managed to associate with food :o

I am addicted to food, sweet food and cereal! I am far too scared to go near scales but my jeans are getting tighter. The exercise kind of died a death as it took me 3 days to walk properly after the last lot but hey must get back to it tomorrow.

Going to see the nurse and get my new patch supply tomorrow, last 2 weeks before they are reduced.

This will probably be my last post in here and I will soon be joining the 1 month room, amazing! :D

Hi Chrissi,

I'm about the same age as you, had the same habits as you, using the same method as you - but 10 days behind you!

I'm using patches too... my "counsillor" told me to take me patches off at night, unless I was waking up to smoke before I quit. So I dont keep my patch on at night and put on first thing, but the two nights i have forgotton to take it off I've had the most vivid dreams!!

Hello, congrats for your 26 days smoke free:). i am on day 25 :p. don´t worry about the weight but I suggest you try to control it. I had the same problem, I couldn´stop eating, especially after 6 pm. I Practice yoga at morning, now I take a class at 7.00 pm too so I stay away from food and at the same time I relax and exercise... Maybe you like to walk or exercise or a handcraft that keeps you busy during the hours that you feel like snacking.

It helps me to have sugarless jelly and yoghourt always handy. Sugarless candies and lots of water. I repeat to myself what I think is true: I am not hungry, the food will not calm my anxiety and personaly Im not hungry it is just a kind of boredom that I used to fill with a cig.. You can do it, you already did...the same way you won the battle with the cig you can do it with the food. It is all in your mind...;)

Thanks, weighed myself tonight and I appear to have stopped growing for a few days. The nurse threatened me with a dietician referral if I can't stop eating :D:D:D

I have tried sleeping with the patches and without and nothing seems to make a difference but I don't care anymore as long as I don't smoke.

I am just so unmotivated, I am about the laziest person I know. I think I need to clear out the "calorie cupboard" (it's where we keep all the kids lunchbox bits and sweets/choc bars etc) and it is on my way from the computer to the rest of the house!:p

jo2729 - Keep going, we can do it and you will get to join me in the 1 month room fairly soon

hi all

I hate to say, I have always been over weight and addicted to food, regardless of being a smoker. So I agree worry about the weight later. At least now I am fat, but smell good and can breath. I will concentrate on loosing weight when I have conquered the cravings for cigarettes. Well done every one. We are all brilliant.
