I seem to have a problem getting off the niquitine minis now though I was practically off them until last month, when we were spending every minute we could with my dying MIL, I jsut kept popping them in and sucking them and now i think i'm kinda addicted to them. I can't get them on prescription anymore so I've been buying them.. dunno how to stop using them

Hi Karen,
Glad to hear you are still stopped. As for the Mini's not sure what to suggest apart from the two obvious ones. Stop them tomorrow and have no more (doesn't have to be tomorrow, but yo know what I mean) or gradually cut them down. If you have 10 in a day then tomorrow only allow 9 and so on.
My friend has been on the gum for a year now so I know they can be tough to break but You have got through so much over the last 5 months without smoking you can defiantely get off those minis.
hi to everyone. hope its ok for me to join the oct 2010 quit group. I smoked 20 to 25 cigarettes a day for 30 years. I gave up on the 26 oct 2010 and am looking forward to reaching my 5th month ciggy free:)yippee. ..must tell the truth though, i still have the odd niquitin mini when i feel a bit stressed but smoking. Any tips on getting to sleep would be much appreciated :confused:keep up the good work everyone x
There's a link in my sig about sleeplessness in ones quit and why we suffer at first. Maybe you could have a read and at least get an understanding of the whys.
Other than that...no coffee or tea for a while, I stopped coffee for the 2 years in total  Someone else suggested lavender oil on your pillow. When you do waken in the middle of the night try to get into a habit of quietening your mind, don't get involved in the thoughts that constantly go 'round, just empty your mind. If it persists then visit the docs.
5 months is awesome, Oct 2010 quitters...give yourselves big pats on back
Thanks cavalier i will have a look at the link regarding sleeplessness. I seem to be tired all day and then come alive after 10 at night. perhaps its time i got myself a night job  seriously though i will have to stop drinking coffee in the evening i think thats my main problem. anyway im still off the fags so doing something right !!!!
Well done everyone, we can do this. I do wonder how the rest of the Oct 2010 group are doing.

Free and Healing for Four Months, Twenty Nine Days, 14 Hours and 25 Minutes, while extending my life expectancy 7 Days and 6 Hours, by avoiding the use of 2094 nicotine delivery devices that would have cost me $758.64.
