Well it's day 3...

...and I'm still here. I'm being attacked by the law of sod though! When I originally planned my quit my first day was to be the 1st April; the reason being that I had a bunch of 'stuff' planned throughout March which would cause temptation. These events then got cancelled so I thought "meh...no time like the present" and got on with it.

Guess what...the events (nights out with buddies etc) are now back on. I wouldn't say I'm dreading them, it's just a pain in the .... you know what.

Not sticking to Alan Carr's method scuppers me again!

Stav - that sucks! :( Hate it when you have it all planned out and then it gets changed - but you can still do this, just keep thinking in terms of "i've quit 3 days now, dont want to mess that up", overall benefits of quitting, that you WANT to be a non-smoker...rather than "this is gonna be hard on these nights out"

Just keep thinking the good stuff, even if you dont quite beleive it at first. Remember the "naughty" thoughts are nicodemon trying to lure you back - not what you actually want.

Sending you good no-smoking vibes:)

Keep going!

I have a party to go to in 2 weeks and very nearly used it as my reason to not even try to stop but if I did that I could find reasons for the next 2 years at least! lol I am just hoping that by the time it comes round I will have done 3 weeks and that is a long time to throw away.

Hi Stav

I planned my quit in early November for a similar reason. I wanted to have quit for long enough to make it worthwhile to stay quit over xmas as I knew it would be an alchohol fueled time of the year.

As it turned out it was nothing to worry about and I sailed through it.

Moral of the story is you are stronger than you think and will get through.....don't worry you will be fine!! :D

I'm guessing "d'oh" is falling off the wagon and "it's pretty rubbish" is wishing you hadnt?

If that is the case - not to worry, it's happened to lots of people lately, me included, just make a plan to get back on the wagon. We're all here if you want a rant or some support :)
