4 puffs

day 17 for me and today i had 4 puffs of a fag it was horrible tasted foul but i still love the smell of smoke will this pass or will i always love the smell

it will pass, you really only think you love it because of the endorphines cigs release in the brain.

as i begin to love my non-smoking life (around the end of month 5 for me, i'm a late developer!) i began to get annoyed by cig smoke, but by reading other peoples posts it seemed to happen sooner for other people,

stop that puffing now!!!

Ok so you've had a blip, forget it and move on.........and remember that taste next time you feel the urge.

As for will liking the smell of smoke pass?, i think thats down to the individual, many people (myself included) now detest the smell but there's others (well beyond my quit time) that find the smell surprisingly pleasing, maybe it's a bit of nostalgia for them i don't know but it doesn't make them smoke, luckily.

I have friends and family who have given up and some still love the smell and others hate it. I guess we just learn to deal with it.

I also have friends who have quit 10 years + and still love the smell, but would they smoke again, no way. It's all about choices in the end and coming to terms with the choice of not wanting to smoke as opposed to not allowing yourself. I don't enjoy the smell because it was something that always embarrassed me when I did smoke cos I thought it bothered people.

Perhaps once you honestly work out why you had to have those four puffs, then you can work out the best way forward for your quit, you can perhaps learn something from it which will help you later.
