40 days and having a bad day!!!!

I'm having a really low day today. Feel so depressed lately and can't seem to shake it off.

I'm not even craving cigarettes. I just feel so rough and low at the moment.

Hopefully it will pass??????

Of course it'll pass, Louiza :)

Smokers and non smokers get these days just cos it's human thing to be on occasion. Generally when you women get like that I hear that you indulge in a bit of retail therapy. Perhaps that's what you need to do...not necessarily retail therapy but to cosset and indulge yourself. Harass someone in the real world to tell you that you are amazing, or just list all the positive things in your life.

Other than that stick around the forum cos there will be someone to big you up shortly :)

i know how u feel, i had 1 2day and regret it coz i didnt even want 1 and didnt enjoy it, i put it down 2 the fact that i needed that 1 to reassure me that i made the right decision!

i think when u r a smoker it clouds everything, you dont see things clearly which is why when u stop u feel down coz u no longer just let things slip anymore.

ive had a really down day 2day, cant even be bothered to do anything, i think now ive given up smoking i realise there are things i need to change in my life that i just let slip before.

i had a chat to my sister a while ago and now i feel alot better about things, im gonna turn these bad things into good 1s and u should try to do the same.

weekends r hard coz u generally dont have 2 do anything so u have more time 2 think.

i hope this helps x

I agree with Cav, we all have rubbishy days. And because we're not smoking, we tend to fixate on that.

In the old days, we would have been having a rubbishy day and smoking. It would still have been a bad day, and we'd have been inhaling tar an toxins and crap into the bargain.

Do whatever you can think of to make yourself feel better, but don't smoke, it won't help!

Maybe this is your mind's way of telling you 'right, I'm well on the way to being free of addiction now. I need something else to occupy me'. Why not branch out in a whole new direction? Look up local night classes and learn pottery. Join a book group. Start a business. After all, if you can quit smoking you can do ANYTHING!

Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Have a bubble bath and think about how you're going to use it.

Love xxx

Thanks for all your kind messages. I feel better already. My sister popped round earlier and she had been to the heath food shop and got me some ginseng tablets. They are supposed to help when you feel down. So i'll start them tomorrow.

Alot of people complain about not being able to sleep (me included in the beginning) but now 40 days in and I can hardly keep my eyes open. I'm always asleep. Perhaps i'm sleeping too much.

I'll let you all know how I get on.

Sorry to hear your feeling down, feeling low is common after quiting due to cigs giving us regular dopimine release in or brains, which makes us happy! So when we dont gte that any more we feel low but after a while the imbalnace corrects itself and youll be able to feel happy without cigs.

Well done in making it this far, your doing great. :)
