Much to my surprise (and yours I'm sure) I actually made it to day 3. This is the big one, The one where the nicotine is out of your system and it becomes a mind over matter type match. My brain isn’t to big so luckily for me a cigarette isn’t either. I may stand a decent chance at this match - lol. While I do have some pretty severe moments where I would do almost anything for just one puff (sounds good right) I know exactly where that will leave me.
At 10:00 PM tonight it will be 72 hours since my last cigarette. I know it is still 16 hours from now but I am hopeful I can make it. I just need to avoid everyone one more day.
I have a little advantage this morning. I woke up with a sore throat, sneezing, stuffy nose followed by runny nose, teeth hurt and right arm pain. It is the kind of feeling where you just don’t feel like smoking. All I can say is go ahead nicotine make on last stand. I know that I will start feeling a little better every day just as I did the last time I quit
As always I wish everyone good luck today. With any luck I will be moving on up to the day 4 sector tomorrow.

hey there sparky and congrats on day three not feeling well is definatly helpful when trying to quit..that is how i got through day 1..i had a monster hangover:eek: i could barely make it out of bed to go to the bathroom!! i had been contemplating quitting for new year and that seemed so great that i could get through day one so easily (so to speak) so i did it. you know you can do it you just need to be strong and keep the right mind set..enjoy your day and we can get through it together!
I do a lot better with staying quit by avoiding people and luckily I'm in a position that I can easily leave on a moment’s notice from any place that I am. I think that is going to be my strong card to play.
I was saying yesterday that it is embarrassing having a "Senior Member" title and only being 3 days into a quit so that is going to be another strong hold for me.

Then change it Go to 'User CP' and change to what you want it to read .. how about 'Senior Moment'
Was looking for this post this morning... Totally knew you could do it!
Same as I know you'll be posting in day 4 tomorrow
IAQ - my first day was a hangover as well! A pretty deadly alcohol AND cig one - prolly had about 2 packs in the course of the evening. Made it soooo easy.. the rest of the days didn't pass as easily unfortunately! But hey, mind over matter, right sparky?
I think I'm just having a bad day. I keep telling myself that this stuff would have happened if I was smoking or not but coming up with solutions has been a little harder today than most.
