I would just like to introduce myself.

I have now reached 14 days into quit, aiming to go all the way this time after numerous attempts. I have been reading this forum daily and really value comments and suggestions.

Hi and welcome to the site.

Well done on your 14 days. Thats the physical side of withdrawal done and out of the way :D

There is some great support on here should you find you need it. I would also like to suggest that you take some time to read up on quiting. There are some gresat links in my signature and in lots of other peoples. Most people on here agree that reading and re educating yourself about smoking is the key to a successful quit.

Stay Strong.

Thanks for all your comment and such a warm welcome :)

I have been trying to quit for a number of years, smoking more each time I started again, going up to 30 a day. I quit this time using NRT patches and Lozenges, eating up to 12 lozenges a day on top of a 25 mg patch. On Friday I ran out of lozengers and tried to get some in the chemists and shops between working meetings. I could only get the 4mg gum (much to high for me). Decided to go without and just use patches! Wow I felt bad, my whole body felt strange, I ached everywhere, my head felt numb and I have eaten twice my body weight in chocolate and sweets. I am nearing the 72 hours so, I am thinking that my body is getting used to the reduced amount of nicotine.

Very worried about coming off the patches!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all the advice about reading, does anyone have any advice about coming off the patches?????

I wouldn't even be worrying about coming off the patches at this stage. You have got there back up for a while. As you have found stopping the lozengers it is a bit squiffy for a couple of days and then just normal, when you drop down a patch it will be just the same but probaly not as bad as it won't be such a dramatic drop.

I am not on patches but used them before so from previous experiance and also from what I have been reading on here from people using them now.

i am on stage one patch also i am 38 days now am feeling very very good this last week and am confident that wen i drop down to the next patch all will be fine i worried at the start about coming off the patches, but i had good days and bad days at the start but like i said it has really levelled out this week and i feel completely stable and good all week. it gradually gets better day by day. try not to look to far into the future just take each day as it comes looking to far ahead can panic u and make u worry about things that havent even happened, i did that at the start but learnt worrying about the future made for a bad day

well done and keep reading
