Day 19 - Losing all Enthusiasm

What is going on?

My enthusiasm is being wittled down by the lack of sleep :(, i've no issue getting to sleep but staying that way for more than 2 hrs is nigh on impossible. Woke up after 1hr 48mins sleep last night and that was it, wide awake until 04:29 (last time i saw the clock) and the damn alarm went off at 05:37

It's like a sleep yoyo, i'll be that tired tonight (i am already which is damn dangerous on the motorway to work:eek:) that i'll probably get a half decent sleep but then the next night i won't get any again :(

Pete, lack of sleep definitely brings you down. I hope it sorts itself out soon. You are doing so well and even if it doesn't seem worth it at the moment, it really is. I found increasing the physical exercise I do has helped me sloeep better.

Hi Pete im sorry your still suffering with not sleeping i have quite alot of experience to not sleeping being a chronic insomniac for about 8 years now

here are a couple of tips that may work or not as with anything what works with some dont always work with others

if you have to set an alarm try and put it so you cant see the time as being able to see the time will get you upset and stressed which will lead you to stay awake even more if you go to sleep ok and then wake dont look at the time if your wide awake get up do some stretchine exercises or make a hot drink herbal tea or a milky drink with horlicks or ovaltine and sip that in bed when you lie back try some deep breathing and relax the mind and body

a lavender spray is good to squirt on your pillow as there is something in the scent that can help with sleep

failing that umm well you could always try the hammer trick but be warned that can lead to a nasty bump on the head and a nasty headache :p

only jesting hope you do manage to start sleeping normally again

oh yeah try going to bed at a different time and if your a reader read a few pages of a book which will help you relax i know alot of so called experts say you shouldnt read in bed but hey im a rebel and dont listen to them

Great tips there Carol!

I swear by the Lavender spray now, my sleep seems to be back to normal but I am not going to chance it, could be a phsycological?? thing too, the placebo affect.

Anyway Pete, follow Carols excersises and I will keep an eye out for any other tips I can get for you.

Chin up!

Sleep?

Hi Pete,

Sleep not been great for me either, struggled to sleep probably 2 nights when going to bed but keep waking up between 330am and 6am 9 times out of 10 sleeps!! Little bit annoying but i feel better than i used to when i had bad sleeps as a smoker the next day i would smoke more and have an hours lie down in the day, no fags now and no lie downs in the day. Had a few blurry eyed road trips as well though!!!!

Just keep yourself busy through the day, it helps me to put my tiredness to the back of my mind

Keep up the good work though as i know what your going through buddy and you have done really really well!!!!
