Personally i'd just "ride the storm" for a few days (if you can).
We all have good and bad days and some of the bad ones can be strung together. I'm on day 17 and the last 2 days have been really bad for me but i know it'll get better so that knowledge keeps me going.
Keep focused and positive, think of why you wanted to quit and congratulate yourself on now being that ex-smoker you wanted to be
thank you, already since i posted i am feeling slightly better.it was really odd waking this morning at 5am and wanting one.i normally didnt have a smoke till 8ish.
and i feel slightly foolish that last night i actually cried because i wanted one so much.
You feel foolish?, i'm a grown man and cried my heart out to the dog a week ago!!!
aw
i just am really suprised that something like this can reduce me to tears.my o/h gave up smoking over 5 years ago and he didnt have any cravings, not one.
on the plus side of it all i am really enjoying not smelling of smoke.although i still like the smell on others.
Hi there, perhaps you could have an emergency supply of the nicotine gum or minis so that if you are having a bad craving you can have one of them? I have found that helps me (I'm on the patches) Lots of places have these 1/2 price at the moment - sainsburys is one
The quitting process is one hell of an emotional rollercoaster but will be worth it when you come out the other side full of confidence and better self esteem knowing that you've beat a tough addiction and took control

i feel a bit more positive now.i went to the shops for the first time on my own since quitting, and didnt buy any.
the were smokers every where.i thought hardly anyone smoked any more.
also the nurse rang me and we has a chat.she has written a prescription for my patches and some gum.i still cant see her till the 28th but at least i can come and get support on here.
Hey - I'm glad you're feeling more positive. I'm not sure if there are a lot of smokers or if you are more aware of it (if that makes sense). Like when you buy a new car or something, you realise that lot's of people have the same car becasue you are more aware of it.
Well done though and keep on coming on here for help and support when you want it

Tinks has got it spot on and you'll soon be at the point (if you aren't already) that'll you'll be smelling them everywhere which you didn't consciously notice when you was a smoker.
