11 months

I cant believe its been nearly a year, what a journey!

I've been working out, running and hiking for about 9 months now, things i just couldnt do as a smoker. I am feeling fit, healthy and strong and that helps me to stay positive about my quit and life in general.

For me, the more i invest into my overall health, the less likely i am to start smoking again. Its just too much to throw away.

Stay strong people :)

  • Well done Mini you have done incredibly well and one more month from now and you will also be in the Penthouse, at least you want have to take the lift you can run up the stairs and not even puff.

I would have to start now and be crawling by the time I got there LOL

  • Well done Mini,

  • well, it feels like an age since i last visited this site but i think it's about 10 months now, ( my quit date was june 8th last year). i stopped on the day mentioned and have never looked back,,,not even 1 slip,,, i have taken up walking with my partner and we now do a thing called geocaching ( check it out on line ) which is a kind of treasure hunting game which can be played worldwide,, the only down side is the fact that i put on nearly 2 stone in the last 10 months so i have now gone back to the gym and started running again, something i hadnt done since a knee operation about 5 years ago,,,i have allready lost nearly a stone in 2 weeks so it goes to show that if you put your mind to something it can be done. Anyway, i have to say a big thankyou to everybody still on here , and those who are not, who helped me throught the early days of my quit,,,i owe a lot to you all,,, and just to finish a friend of mine recently had a cancerous tumour removed off his kidney and he told me " it's easier to lose weight than to lose a lung " a piece of advice that has stuck with me. Good luck to everybody else who has got this far and continues to do well. I will visit the site more often now as i dont mind talking about ciggies anymore lol.
