Am new to this forum - found it after deciding to quit smoking on Saturday after months (maybe even years) of internal battles with myself. I know all the facts, as i'm sure we all do, but that final kick up the bum was never there until now - had a bad chest infection last week and decided enough was enough!
On day 3, with patches, and so far so good. Not going to lie, have been thinking about smoking quite a bit, but am so far managing to remain strong and level-headed and resist the temptation.
First goal is one week, so hopefully when Saturday comes around again i will have made it

Awe thanks Jo and Embo....am feeling very positive and have spent today telling people that i have quit and being pleasantly surprised at the positive comments and encouragement coming from friends and colleagues (many of whom are my smoking buddies)
Will definately be on here a lot, as some of the stories and comments are really inspiring....

Hi Jennifox.
Welcome and congrats on reaching day 3
Glad here you are taking it one step at a time, i personally think that is main way to go about it and succeeding, dont set yourself too far ahead and from your post i can see that you have not
Im on the patches too, you will at first think about the fags as it was part of your routine, but the thoughts will start getting less and less, like they are for me.
