Day one. :-)

Well I did it, I had my last cig at ten this morning, then put my patch on, stuck on some music and cleaned my house like a crazy woman. At least it took my mind off it. The sore throat has started, and I'm feeling a little anxious, but Im coping, looking forward to waking up in the morning and my chest feeling easier and knowing that every day it is gonna get better. Still have this anxious niggle that should that have really been my last one, maybe tomorrow will be a better day for my last one.......and the cycle would start again. Sounds silly. Keeping with the patches and no plans for having a cig, but I know the first week or so, is a fragile one, so I'm taking every day as it comes, being prepared with mints and bubble gum, ( got a feeling I'm gonna have jaw ache, ha) think I might have a couple of calms to help me along a bit, a glass of wine sounds nice, but I don't want to use drink as a substitute. Looks like I'm gonna be pretty minty from now on. :-) better than stinking of fags though. :-)

Evening Jay!!!

Well done on day one :)

Its funny you mention being stinky of fags.... for the first time today i really noticed other people stinking of it lol

Told my mum when i went to pick youngest up from her and she told me i used to stink when i dropped him off to her!! think just the thought of smelling that way now has made up my mind never to smoke again.

Remember to take just one day at a time, or an hour or even 10 minutes at a time, try not to think to far ahead of yourself and stay positive.

Good luck hun

Well done on Day 1

:D A Very Big Well Done Jay on your very first day :D

Hopefully today will be better than yesterday and remember to keep posting in the day of the week your at and before you know it you will be moving slowly down the forum.

Take it minute by minute, hour by hour and dont look too far ahead. Like you i went on a chewing gum frenzy the first 2 days and i had to stop chewing because my jaw ached, im now on Mint Imperials and doing my knitting too. :)

For me its starting to be less of a thought and starting to be a little easier in my mind although my body is still clearning out the old gunk and that will take a while longer yet.

Make sure you get enough decent vitamins too as your body will need them to help repair the damaged tissue etc.

TTFN and heres to Day 2.

Stay smoke free and enjoy the rest of your life :)

Well done Jay :)

Speaking of smells I once asked my room mate what I smelt like and she just replyed 'oh yano like you, you smell like fags and a slight hint of soap'

I don't want my natural smell to be of smoke so I'm trying to quit.

Basically smokers smell. So there's another good thing about quitting. :)
