I'm on day 22 of my quit and I feel it's very strong and stable at the moment. I haven't really come close to smoking barring one particularly bad day a week or so ago, and I managed to get through that :).
One thing I've noticed is that I don't seem to be in tune with what my body's telling me any more - particularly with regards to eating. I'm never sure whether I want to eat or not so I'm eating 'by the clock'. "It's one o'clock so it must be lunchtime".
Has anyone else experienced anything like this or should I be calling the men in white coats? :D.

LOL, yes I have been experiencing it, but more from the 'eating all the time' perspective! It almost feels like without fag breaks to time my day by I have lost all concept of time and when things are 'normally' done.
Regarding sanity and men in white coats - you are not alone but I would not claim you should use me as an example of sane!
I've not really had the 'gotta eat all the time' thing, but being hungry and feeling full feel the same to me at the moment. I'm aware that quitting the cigs can lead to weight gain so I'm trying to be conscious of not eating more than usual. I know exactly where you're coming from with the time thing. A cig used to punctuate points in the day so time's become an amorphous lump now instead of an ordered line :p. I think I'll opt for a lump of time and no cigs though :D.
Loving the disclaimer at the end of your post :). I promise that my sanity (or lack of it) won't ever reflect on you!!
Yes, i was the same for a while, so ate by the clock too. Its hard because you arent sure whats hunger!
If it was hunger, you would recognise the signs i think (growling tummy etc) so i would just carry on doing what you're doing!
Thanks Claire.
That's exactly what I'm experiencing! Not being sure what's hunger! It's quite bizarre but it's something I can deal with. I'd still like it to pass soon though :).
I'll start weighing myself I think. I believe smoking raises the metabolism, so if I'm now eating the same as I was before then I'm not burning off the calories with my lower metabolic rate.
