Joined the Week 2-ers!!

Hi everyone,

Here I am in week 2!! :). I never thought I'd ever get this far and it's thanks in no small part to the encouragement and support from the great FMs on this forum :).

I know I've still got a long way to go and many challenges yet to overcome, but I feel ready for it and believe I can stay smoke-free this time!!

Thank you to everyone, and the best of luck with your quits!!

xx

  • That is such an amazing achievement! Time goes so slow and so fast at the same time, doesn't it? before you know it you'll be hitting 1 month!

Glad you find the forum useful, I really don't know if I would have got this far without it!

  • Woo-Hoo, well done captain!!!

Keep up the good workm and remember NEVER to let your guard down as the nicodemon is waiting for his opportunity!

Thanks Sofia :). I know what you mean about time going slow and fast at the same time. 'Now' seems to pass fairly slowly, but the past week seems to have gone by in a flash. In a strange way I'm quite enjoying the challenge of not smoking. I know. I'm weird :p.

Thanks Claire :). From time to time I find myself trying to justify having a cig, but I'm getting quite adept at remembering very quickly the reasons I'm doing this. I know that just one puff will takle me right back to the beginning and that's the last thing I want!!

I'm holding strong and taking things one day at a time. I won't smoke today, and I'll decide tomorrow not to smoke then too!!

  • Made it this far today with little discomfort and I'm getting a major craving now . Deep breaths!!! I'm not going to smoke!!!!

  • Hi captain, sorry to hear you are getting cravings now!

OK- if possible, get busy in an attempt to get your mind off it. Housework, paperwork, reading a novel, anything that works for you!!

As long as you dont smoke, all will be fine!!

  • Thanks Claire. Got through it intact. Haven't had one like that since about day 2. Back on track now :). Bring on day 9 :D.

  • Well well well.....into week 2.

Sorry you have had another cravy day.....i wont lie there will be more ahead but everyone beaten is another day nearer the Penthouse and you never have to do day 8 again.

Keep on quitting you are doing great.

  • Got through it OK Lorna. It caught me a bit unawares as all my other cravings have been comparatively mild since about day 2. This one came out of nowhere!! I know there'll be more to come, and probably some strong ones too, but hopefully their average intensity will continue to diminish.

The main thing is I'm still smoke-free!! :).
