i have just decided to give up smoking and im not expecting an easy ride, so did a search on the internet to find some support and here i am.
im always thinking about giving up and i really dont know if this is the best way to just suddenly decide like this, i have one cigarette left and have locked it away, so i wonder if that means im not really serious?? hmm dont know.
my plan is to wake up tomorrow morning and tell myself i am a non smoker and take it from there.
just wanted to say hello, hope i dont drive everyone nuts by posting on here everytime i feel like a ciggie.
im going to have a wander around the site
thanks

Hi Snowdrop and welcome to the forum. You will find some great support here, so read loads and post often. We all quit differently and every quit is unique so don't judge your quit as not serious, it is because you are here and a non smoker.
Posting often will help you and nobody around here will complain, take one day at a time, even one hour at a time if it helps, after 3 days (if your doing CT) then all the nicotine will be out of your body. Educate yourself as to how the nicotine kept you hooked and will try and hook you back again and you will become a happy non smoker.
Hi snowdrop, welcome to the forum. Like Bev just said lot's of eading will help prepare you mentally for what you may be about to go through. Signitures on here are exremely helpful as is the advice given here by us quitters. My only tool was this forum! It worked though.
Good luck for tomorrow and someone will be here to help you out should you feel anxious about your quit.
Welcome to the forum congratulations on your decision to quit... wuldn't worry about driving everyone to nuts...we all got an earlier bus here
Try relax and stay focused on your goal .....won't kid you snowdrop next few dayswill be a bumpy ride after all you have had a habit for a long time, breaking that habit is the key and replacing it with other habits , the craves and nicotine will fade away. People on here have great signatures have a read of some of them learn about the symptoms the emotions you will go through it all helps...anyway wish you all the best ..in a few days time this will all be behind you and you will realise hey i can do this.
Welcome to the forum & well done on your decision to quit.
Good luck for day 1 & remeber if it gets tough come on here. Read & post as much as it takes.
I had half (yes half :() a ciggie in my ashtray in the car. Most of the time I completely forgot it was there but on a couple of bad morning at work I did remember it & think shall I?? I didn't but it made the moment pass because I could if I wanted but chose not to Normally I would say get rid of everything but hey, do what works for you, that is what is important
i have just popped home for lunch (this is when i would have a few ciggies) i cant tell you how much coming on here and seeing replies and reading them has helped me, why didnt i think of looking for this place before ?????????
so honestly i have amazed myself ive got through this morning ,
