Ok so I've successfully passed the 2 month mark (68 days) and have decided that I don't quite have it all figured out. Exactly a month into my quit I only just began to bring up some of that dirty looking tar and 38 days later I have brought up something whether small or big without fail every single day, I wonder how long this will last? And what everyone elses take on the situation is?

Can't really comment on the gunk as I didn't have any  28 years of smoking and no muck - where'd it go  I'm sure someone will be along who can shed some light on it for you Big well done on your quit though - 68 days is brill xx
Mine took weeks to shift. The main thing is that your lungs are doing what they are supposed to be doing. Amazing when you consider the abuse we put them through.

Hi Alex
Takes ages but can't remember when mine finally stopped but like you mine was sparodic but like Angel say's it's your lungs finally clicking back into normality (whatever that is ) and doing what they do best... sounds sick but getting that gunk up is a good moment you know you are on the road to recovery ...68 days as well, well done you superb quit ...
It actually does make me feel really good just knowing that all that s*** is coming out of my lungs, can feel the healing! I'm thinking that eventually our bodies will all heal, its just a matter of time and we won't necessarily bring it up that way I suppose even sweating helps relieve the body of the evil toxins
I also have a flatulence issue which I've had pretty much since the start of the quit, with a serious bloat. I'm not really doing alot of exercise anymore, but I was at the start of the quit!! But from what I've read this should have eased off by now, I'll tell you what. That situation is not helpful in the bedroom, not at all! Infact the only good thing as that they're quiet, so I can lift the edge of the cover and let the smell roam without the missus knowing. haha
Btw good on ya Brad, nearly a year now Some celebrations are due my friend

good effort ..... loud and proud my friend dont be doing any girly ones .....
I never had gunk either! talk about disappointed. But during my most recent, relatively small smoking lapse my nose blocked straight up again, i wheezed and coughed up more phlegm than Bob Fleming...
Hi Congrats on your 69 days, you are doing so well and bet you are proud as punch, Im like some and only coughed for 4/5 days at begining of quit but I had swine flu so had horrendous cough and once that had gone no more gunk, sometimes wonder why I didnt and loads do, had chest xray which was clear so try to just think all quits are diferent but as long as we quit who cares once you get past month 4 I think it will start to be second nature and the wind mmmmmm I as a lady didnt suffer with it but my dog did something terrible he has got better now though, and the strange thing was he was always next to me when he did it, OH tried to blame me but I said I wouldnt do that I am like the queen and dont pass wind, well done you and do you realy think your OH doesnt know, obviously you dont have a dog ???????
Haha ok maybe she knows, she hasn't said anything yet so i'll buy her a gas mask for her birthday nps.
I am really proud! And proud of anyone else that manages to kick the habbit, the first 2 weeks are the most difficult, seems really easy sailing after a month with a bit of will power.
AND GIRLS DO PASS WIND!!! You should also read this book my nephew has, its pretty good. Title is 'Everybody Poops'! Even the Queen!
:DWill have to see if I can get that I like a laugh and when quitting you need to do that more I think, it keeps you grounded and makes you realise that stopping smoking doesnt have to mean that you have nothing left to live for cause I know I had a few days like that at first, take care and keep striving for perfection cause us women know what that feels like and it would be nice for the odd man to feel it as well :D
I'm just starting to get a bit croaky so am defo getting rid of some gunk.
As for the wind thing - I can out trump my family when I put my mind to it and giving up smoking is just making me even more entitled to my trumping tiara!!!!
My 3 year old daughter thinks it's hilarious which is good enough for me - she can tell a trumps origins somehow so none of us can get away with denial!!!!
