Hi all,

I'm still here. Not popping in as much anymore - sorry :o

I still want to support people quitting but I have to admit I am thinking about smoking so little now that I quess that I am just getting on with my life .... :D

I cannot remember the last crave I had, I just get fleeting thoughts now. I thought the summer would bring millions of new triggers but so far so good. In fact because I have upped the exercise I'm even more determined!

Still not had the sitting-outside-a-pub-in-the-sun-test ... eek ... not looking forward to the one but will soldier through.

114 days today or 3 months, 3 weeks and 2 days!

Hows everyone getting on?

Jen x

Well Done Jen!

Hey Jen,

Great news to hear that your quit is so successful ... I try and just do things normally i.e. sit in the sun outside a pub etc as then I get to the craves quicker and no shocks down the line ... this has however, meant it has been quite a difficult quit. Some people have stopped drinking and going out etc but I carried on as normal as I failed in a previous attempt by doing that and found it too difficult when i tried to go back to normal.

So what is your secret??!! I am CT and 3 weeks 5 days into my quit. It has been really tough again for the past week or so ... did you find this at around 3 weeks and has it improved in the past few weeks for you or has it been ok anyway for you? I do go through something similar to this at around 8 weeks where it isn't exactly craving but you are just constantly tinking about the fact that you have quit.

I hope your quit just keeps on getting better and better x

FABULOUS - WELL DONE:p

Hi Jen,

I am just in front of you in my quit attempt at 128 days and to be honest I am like you as I don't have any craves (35 years smoking). I did have some problems a couple of weeks ago as I was not feeling well and related it to not smoking but I started taking a small amount of St Johns wart to lift a mild depression. But I am convinced I will never smoke again,so well done you.

Thanks all for your encouragement. I really would not have managed this quit without this forum. You have all been amazing. I have also found it really useful to note down my feelings, even if I don't end up posting, although I normally have. I like to look back at my old posts and think 'cor yeah it was much harder back then, haven;t I done well!'. ;)

Jodi, I had no great secret I'm afraid. Just a mixture of subborness, determination and support from friends and family and you lot. I always focussed on my reasons for quitting, the benfits so far and the benefits that I am looking forward to in the future. This kept me on the quit. I'd also remind myself what a waste of 3 months it would be if I were to start at the beginning again. I always come to the same conclusion - It's not even worth trying that puff! Not even to see if I still like it! I've conquered drinking vast quantities without craving so I think anything is possible now. Yes 3 weeks were tough and every so often I too will miss the action of smoking but not the nicotine anymore. Does that make sense? I think about it less and less as every day passes (and I still have a full time smoking OH!) In fact you could say that he alone supports the tobacco industry! and I now have shares in febreeze! The last few weeks have been fine but I am not complacent. I am well aware that the nicocdemon is still sat waiting for a weaness to show in my armour! All I can say to him is come get me, I'm ready! :D

We meet again and glad in a way that you are finding it easier not to have to come on so often but sad that we then dont get to see you as much, its a good feeling when you dont think about the cigs and how much better you begin to feel well done and keep NOT puffing in more ways than one xx

Hi all and well done to you all, Hi my ittle one!!

I know I really must come on more often to help all of those coming up behind me. I want to help and reassure that when it gets to this stage you really can just get on with your life without thinking about smoking.

116 days today! nearly at the 4 month marker! :D

Still running to - 4 miles yesterday! :D

Losing my mind Jen?!!

Jen,

thanks for the reply ... I just wanted to say that i think i was losing my mind last week (the quit was real tough and a friend passed away) ... anyway i don't know why i kept writing 3 'weeks' ... I am doing myself an injustice ... I am at 3 MONTHS and a few days completed!!!

I was trying to find out if you struggled at 3 months as I am a few weeks behind you and if it gets better where you are!! However, I feel a bit better than I did last week .. not quite as stressed out with the quit!!

Thanks for your help anyway!! sorry for being a doughnut!!
