Hello everyone

Well i've just had what i really hope is the last cigarette i'll ever smoke. I've been smoking since a teenager and have managed to give up once for 13 months but as many of you have experienced, just found myself smoking again!! At 30 i am determined more than ever that i'm going to kick the habbit.

I haven't got a plan in place, i.e patches, gums, groups, etc, just intend to do it with willpower as im so determined. I have 2 beautiful kids and i dont want them to watch daddy puffing in the garden every night on cigarettes.

I've read how well people have done with the help of this forum and i hope i will benefit too and also give people my support too.

Anyway wish me luck and good luck and well done to all of you who have managed to keep off the ciggies.

Dean

Dean I wish you all the luck in the world and know that with that sort of attitude (ie your little girls) you will do well and this site will give you all the support you could possibly need.

If you have done it once you now know the pitfalls so will be forwarned so keep coming on and PM people if you get craves and struggling take care xx

Welcome to the wonderfull world of non smokers Dean :D

Let your children be your biggest incentive to do this, whenever you feel weak look at them & see your reasons for doing this ;)

Wish you loads of luck. Keep reading & posting on here. There is always someone about to help/talk to.

Thank you all so much for the support, it really does help. It's been almost 24hrs and so far so good. I've had a couple of bad cravings throughout the day but have kept myself busy and have enjoyed my first smoke free day.

I must admit that for most of the day all I've thought about is smoking, stopping is such a big lifestyle change that I suppose it's only normal for it to be on mind. I just hope the thoughts of smoking subsides with time as it doesn't help!!
