Hi folks,

Hope you are all doing good this evening.

Just on for an emptying of the head - dangerous I know, feel free to make a dash for it!

Am finding it extremely weird being patch free. Can't quite put my finger on it but think I was used to actively doing something to quit - i.e. putting a patch on in the morning and taking it off at night. Not sure if that will make sense to anyone but now I don't 'do' anything. Feel a teensy bit lost.

Feel a bit deflated. Plus everyone round about me is like "Well done, thats you free of nicotine and now a non smoker" which is lovely but I don't quite feel that way yet. Think I need to keep up the reading and chatting on here cos I've not been doing much of that to be honest. Starting having a few moments where the thought of a cig has appealed so its time to toughen up I think.

Not really complaining cos I do feel much, much better but think I am needing to re-inforce my quit.

So here goes, I have been a non smoker for 13 weeks tonight. I am sleeping better, feeling better, I have more energy, my 3 year old niece loves to kiss me now, I am richer and most importantly I am free of the addiction and the slavery. Plus when I finally get my a$$ back into the dating scene I will appeal to non smokers too :) Although I guess I won't be looking at any smokers as potential snogs will I........do you reckon that balances it out?

OK, head almost empty so going to have a glass of vino.

Thanks for letting me have a ramble.

Very, very late thank you!

Hi Chrissie,

I know its been yonks but just wanted to say a huge thank you. Your reply meant the world to me when I was really struggling.

Things are a bit better now but now started the smoking dreams. Had the first one last night where I 'enjoyed' smoking.

You come too was a real eye opener. Thank you for that. Once my home laptop gets fixed I will be posting more for other people.

Am signing off and going to join the fun in months 4 and 5 :)

p.s. woohoos always welcome

Hi Debs welcome to room 4/5 months its a good place to be but penthouse will be better, I am finding this month a little weird and people seem to take it for granted that you are a none smoker now but that doesnt feel right to me yet and thats a bit of an anti climax as I still feel I need the support and a pat on the back now and then is that how you feel?? well its how I feel and I dont think its just the patches as I did it CT and honestly believe we all seem to go through a similar quit no matter which way we achieve it so hope you feel better soon.

Come and see me when you are settled in xx

Not what you're looking for?
