Day 35 but still cheating

Passed Day 35 last night at 9:00pm and now working through Day 36.

I'm still chewing the 2mg Gum but I'm down to only 3-4 pieces a day.

I've had my chart extended from the NHS 28 Days to 50 by someone with too much time on their hands and I'm planning to phase out the gum by this day.

The bennefits are really shining through now, especially with regards to my running, my old flat out 5k speed feels like a jog now and I can breath through my nose for extended periods rather than gulping down mouthfuls of forced air as my pitiful lungs attempt to keep pace.

Most of my colleagues smoke, as do a number of family members and while the smell is still intoxicatingly delightful I never feel the need to steal their cigg and run off.

The weight gain is ammusing, especially since I've spent an hour in the Gym everyday this week + Badminton for an hour last night and still managed to gain a 1.5pounds in 4 days.

hope it's going well for you guys and gals!

Hi Goffins, well done you :D

Cheating?? I am on day 38, nearing the end of my first step patch & using lozenges. Does this mean I am cheating as well  Surely an aid not a cheat ;)

Day 36

I think this my 36th day too, last smoke 23/2

Anyway, please don't tell me I've cheated through most of ????

Well done Goffins, I've enjoyed a few non-smoking smoke breaks with some buddies and it's does sometimes smell nice.

Despite spending more time than ever in the gym/squash/badminton I'm also gaining a little girth..... could be the pasties :o

Keep up the good work..

Yep, I quit on the 23rd too, we are quit buddies! That means we are almost related.

It's the carbs I tell you, last night I was watching falling down on ITV4 while my girlfriend was asleep next to me, then suddenly I had a Midnight craving for a sandwich, I of course obliged the craving:cool:

Good to meet you buddy...

Almost related - lol - nice one brother. You should join the Feb Quitters (social group you should be able to join from your profile page), I'm sick of being the only guy in there (not really girls - honest :o).

Anyway, should you not be posting in month 2 with the rest of us who've completed over a month?

Later...

Hi Goffins

Well done on 35 days smoke free - thats great.

I love "the weight gain is amusing" line - that made me laugh out loud in the office (I'm imagining a rather deadpan delivery). I found that when I was inhaling packets of mini scotch eggs and demolishing blocks of cheese! Why can't spinach or carrots have the same effect.

But keep it going.
