Day 5 and still smoke free. Goodness at times this is really hard. Last night I felt really calm but today feel really jittery. Have been cleaning the kitchen, made a cake and still looking for things to do, this isn't me.lol I am seeing benefits though like actually seeing money in my purse.:D My sense of smell has improved enormously same as taste. I have lost quite a bit of weight in the last year, about a stone and a half and don't want to put it back on. I'm not dieting whilst stopping smoking but am trying to contain my eating habits a bit. I do find the occasional sugar free lemon sweet is helping.:)

There are times when I feel so strong and determined and then occasionally I start to weaken. I really am determined to not go back to smoking. I'll be glad when I get past the one week mark.:rolleyes:

Well done on day 5 my love...dont worry everything you are feeling is completely normal. What you are doing is the biggest thing you will put your body through so relax and dont worry about the weight...

You may put some on, most of us have as we've eaten a bit more, drunk a bit more and generally did whatever we could to get through...I was eating chocolate like it was going out of fashion, even manged 2 creme eggs one after the other a couple of weeks ago. In 4 months I put on 1.5 stone...and now I feel I have control over my quit I am taking control of my weight.

Dont sweat it you are in good company.

One tip I did not listen to until recently is exercise...it keep the weight of, you can feel your lungs improve and it gives the feel good factor we all miss out on with the lack of cigs...wish I'd listened earlies.

Thanks lorna. I do actually love walking. I walk for a good half hour about 4 to 5 times a week. I'm still doing that and trying to increase it. Yesterday I walked in total for 70 mins and I felt I could have done more. I'm hoping that will help offset the weight gain.lol It does make me feel good as well.:)
