Hi Bman
6 Months...... oh, you get to pack your bags and move on up then?
Great quit you got going there and with January being all clean drink wise, wow, go you
How's your gum/mouth area now following dental treatment last week.
Hopefully it's calmed down a lot now and your feeling human again?
Anyways, congratulations on being half a year smoke free - brilliant

yeah the gums are sore still Pol, feeling under the weather last few days, think I may have picked up an infection or something as my kidneys are killing and I'm sleeping 12 hours a day. Hopefully back in action soon.
yeah Cheers guys, 6 months eh?. well happy about that.. Must say the last couple of months have seemed to go really slowly, and the closer I got to this day the slower it seemed to go
well, thats it for me. I pretty much feel like I quit smoking. which is awesome. It is amazing how that 5 1/2 month stage things really change, everyone said it would and they were right. For the last few years, I have been slowly coming to terms with the fact that I might be a smoker forever. I thought that I might never manage it, and smoke till I kicked the bucket. However, because I've always known just how heavily I was hooked on this drug, I've always known deep down inside that if I ever manage to get off it, I will never ever go back.
There will be no slip. Because its like putting a bullet through my brain if I do.
Next milestone that I see as significant is a year but really I feel like I've stopped caring now. Its not important anymore. I will stay around to help others on the board and have some fun but as far as I'm concerned, I'm officially an ex smoker, non smoker whatever person
my focus now is on dealing with the booze and the rest of my so called 'health '
oh yeah, I'd like to thank my mum, god, my future incredibly amazing non smoking babe of a wife who I'm sure I'll meet soon, and well the rest of you, you know who you are
thanks for this oscar. I'll put it on my mantle peice next to the other trophy I won once for long distance leap frog back in my glory days
BMAN, i'm always glad to see your post showing another month done, when i hit my month marker i keep an eye out for all the folk whom have been so darn good with their quits and brought them this far. I hope you continue to post your monthly milestones if only to mark them, as i would miss the posts if they suddenly were not here.
Its good to know folk are still succeeding and never more true than as yourself and a number of other folk around this time who will be posting. (eg. bradders in 3 days time )
Congrats on your 6 months, it does feel like its for keeps now, and its fantastic that you stuck at it, beat your friend in that bet and are still going strong.
Nicely done.
Jase
Really well done Bman, congrats on the 6 mths, hard as hell to get here and worth it, noticed others in the room esp. those waiting to make it a year saying it's dragging and I think that's to do with anticipation as much as anything, no doubt we'll both be the same for our 1 year quits - but I have no doubt we'll both be there, regardless of catastrophies.
Hope you've feeling more like your old self soon
