If you are having a bad time and you feel you must smoke you are a few days or maybe weeks into your quit but you just can't take it anymore think of this.
Reverse psychology, you are feeling ill so you go to the doctor. The doctor examines you and then asked "Have you stopped smoking recently?" and you answer "yes"
The doctor tells you that's the problem and stopping smoking is making you ill. The only way you would be cured is you must start smoking again. How would you feel? good because you have an excuse to smoke or would you feel I don't want to smoke and now I have to after all I have done and gone through to try and stop now I'm being forced to smoke?
We all know this would not happen but how would you feel if you had to smoke. What I'm trying to say is when you get this feeling you must smoke think what it would be like if you did not have the choice you have now.
But remember right now you do have the choice don't make the wrong one.

I love that way of thinking arhhhhhhhhhhh just think if a Dr really said that to us :eek::eek:
But I'm sure you probably remember as I do the days when we were told that smoking improved our lives would help us keep us stress [tension] free and healthy make us feel better about everything in our lives
In fact way back then the list of reasons to smoke was as long as the one now given as reasons not to smoke
I'm just sat here wondering how long it will take to go full circle and get told again how good it is for us to smke arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Hi Marg, yep it's so good for you to smoke, you will be part of the social circle and make friends. It will help keep you calm and help us deal with the problems we may have........................cr*p.
Can you remember being in company and handing round your fags and someone says "I don't smoke". How we would look at them in disbelieve "What? you don't smoke, how dare you not smoke come on have a fag we'll teach you how to smoke. You can't hang around with us if you don't smoke".
hi jack ur a star, full of wisdome.... we all have our ways of keeping off those nasty fags. I had a wow experience yesterday which has re enforced my stop...
I was in vets yesterday and someone said Hi Sue how are you, I didn’t recognise her, she had a disfigured face, the lower part had dropped and her face became square. ( an old friend I had not seen in a few years) she had mouth cancer!!!!! I will never ever smoke again not matter how much I feel like one.
I think we are all living on the edge of life when we smoke... the health aspects were not the reason I stopped, my reason was money and not liking it any more..... as each day goes by now I do not smoke I feel more fearfull about the damage I have done to my health. I guess this is getting worse as I get older....
over 2 calender months now and proud. keep going Jack ur a fantastic role model xx
It hits home so hard when you come accross sometime like this. You see pictures of people you don't know and think how terrible it is. But when it's someone you know it's hits really hard.
It's funny but the last two days I have had a sore gum. I'm hoping it's just an ulser or something and then you think is it too little too late. Well I hope not.
You're doing really well so keep at it and as we all know it will get easier.
I figured.. if you only get one shot at life.. and then thats it, do i really want to spend that life slowly killing myself with something and being reminded every hour of this. It wasn't until i'd tried quitting 3 times already that i discovered alot more of the horrible facts about smoking, and now i'm utterly coverted to an ex-smoker, and will never go back and yeah.. my life does depend on it

Marg, I can remember as a little girl of about 5, my Mother taking me to the Doctors and he was smoking a cig. whilst examining you and also had a full-up ash tray on his desk and this was just seen as normal. What a difference to these days hey.
lol Marg I was also wondering how long it will take to go full circle and get told how good it is for us to smoke, only I wish they would hurry up and say it cos I could murder a fag right now!!
Yeah I remember all that and the way as you day if you didn't smoke you were looked at as if you were mad
How times have changed eh
But better late than never we've both come to our senses at last
Any support I can give you're very welcome to
Love and a Hug
Marg xx
Another funny thing I remember is someone sitting in a cafe, on a smoking table and not smoking, what a waste!! And here was I just waiting for them to leave that table so I could dash across and have a fag. I mean, how selfish is that, sitting on a smoking table and not smoking. The looks I used to give them!!
I remember going to the Drs as well and him smoking but he also always had a glass of something [looked like whisky on hes dask as well as fags oh boy
I also remember the non smoking tables and the dirty looks at people using them and not a fag in sight if there was a spare seat I made a point of going over and lighting up just to annoy them like that'd annoyed me HA HA
