morning everyone, I hope your all doing ok, im all good so far today!
just went to the shop round by me where i usually get my cigs from, thought long and hard about going there but I just did it and thought whast the heck, im so glad I did, it 'seemed' worse than it actually was so happy I done that!
question, I know when you give up smoking your lungs expell or the crap from your lungs and you get the nasty cough, ok so if your on patches will this still happen? obviously your still getting nicotine in your bloody stream, but not dirrectly into the lungs, is that correct? there for you will still likely get the cough?
thanks guys for everything, day 3 and raring to go

Going into the shop was a great thing to do, a trigger conquered so early on, good job.
Don't have much experience about the nicotine gum stuff, but I would have thought that chewing the gum puts the nicotine directly into your blood stream which takes it to the brain, therefore lessening the nicotine crave. Cos you're not breathing in all the other crap that goes into cigarettes, your lungs should be unaffected and recover just the same, ie. you might get the cough.
I only say might cos not everybody gets it. I'm enjoying taking nice big breaths without that little wheeze that used to happen towards the end of a day.
