It's getting harder!

I'm on day 15 and it seems to be getting harder for some reason! I was even dreaming of smoking last night - I kept taking a packet, going to light one up and then not doing it (which pleases me because I obviously didn't want to 'blip' even in my dreams) - but it's obviously on my mind... I think it's because it Friday and the weekend is on it's way - I just tended to smoke more when I was away from work!

Well done to everyone's who stopped when I did - I know it's great that we're still going... just needed a little moan!:(

Moan away that's what the forum is for, well that and other things.

15 days is fantastic, I did not have the dreams at the start of my quit but did get them at about 2-3 weeks in, when you wake give yourself a pat on the back that it was only a dream and you are still a wonderful non smoker.

I am sorry to hear that it is a bit rough for you at the moment, but I think it can be a bit like a rollercoaster, some days you are up and it is all going well and then without warning you have a bad day and you feel a bit down. As time goes on things will settle more. Keep strong, do some reading and post often over the weekend to let us know how you are getting on.

Remember you do not want to do the last 15 days again.

They are dreams just dreams

Hi Bippityboo I remember telling someone I had stopped for two weeks and they said it will get harder. My answer, now you tell me thanks very much:rolleyes:

Yes it did get a bit harder but in a different way, I did not want to smoke a cigarette but badly wanted something. And then the triggers come in, the times when you would normally have that fag and your brain tells you it's time. Or is it that nicodemon? hmm

When I felt this wanting I came on here, I answered as many posts as I could even started some of my own. This helped me concentrate on something else and most of the time took away the wanting. Knowing you are helping some newbies can help you.

Now I'm 6 weeks 2 days and yes the wanting is still there but not all the time. I have some days like today when it is there but I now have more days when it is not.

I have had dreams of smoking the last two nights and as far as I'm concerned it's only a dream. I remember one night I dreamt I won the lottery but unfortunately it was just a dream. So is a smoking dream, smoking was probably been the last thing you were thinking about before you went to sleep. You were thinking about how well you're doing, I do.

You are doing really well and yes you're going to get hard times but you will also get easier times and eventually the easier times will be come more frequent than the hard times.

Keep it up I now feel so chuffed with myself, I never ever thought I could stop and now I feel I have definately stopped smoking.

Jack :)

Well done on day 15, brilliant you are into week 3 yayy.

Oh the dreaded smoking dreams, I hated them - they have stopped now and its great cos it means that smoking is not the first thing on your mind when your eyes open.

They do pass so bear with it :-)

When I was Little and Had Dreams MUM SAID ITS ONLY A DREAM LOL

I think you are over the worst and getting better growing stronger

every day :)

I’m really glad that now I’ve quit

Cause in the past I’ve smoked some sh**

Smelly Hair Hands and Breath

Shorter Life but longer Death

Up the hills you’ve got no puff

Smokers cough that makes you rough

So pass each day without the weed

Cause only then will you succeed

So Bravo to all that now don’t smoke

Cause early Death is sure no Joke
