Hi,

This is my first post. I'm planning to stop on the 1st too, as is my husband. We both have a long history of smoking and stopping smoking.

I stopped during both of my pregnancies and when my children were tiny but went back to it through the myth that is 'social smoking' I last stopped last January, for about a month then got dragged back in.

I'm aware that I'm getting to the age where it's really going to start affecting my health so I feel an urgency to give up now, but at the same time, I don't want to put myself under pressure- I know that I need to feel that I'm choosing to stop, rather than I have to.

Will be back here on Friday (the first day of the rest of my life :)) and I look forward to sharing tips and successes with you!

Hi Vicky :D

I'm so sorry you fell after a year but a huge well done restarting on new years day

We're all here for you Promise

Hi Newleaf and Hubby

Well done deciding to quit a big decision for most of us but one you won't regret

Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good

You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathising with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad

Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be

This link is good for the psychological part of quittingwhyquit.com/whyquit/A_Sympt...

Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here

Love

Marg
