Here I go.....again........for the last time.....definate

Afternoon all,

My plan was to stop xmas day but after a few (lots) of glasses of vino that went out the window

All the xmas festivities are over, hubby back to work today (I am off till the 4th) so no excuse not to go for it now.

Patch in place, lozenges at the ready. Put out my last ciggie at 12.39 & reset my quit meter!!

I hope every one had a smashing xmas & well done to all those who remained smoke free. For those like me that didn't, keep trying, we'll get there.

Love Gaynor xx

    Thank you Bev.

I feel good about the coming New Year so everything crossed :p

My biggest concern is going back to work. I have 3 days to do the month end, my manager is such a flappy, stressy, dis-organised person & she is completing the month end on her own as FD away. We are all dreading it.

I know in my heart of hearts that having a cigie will not make it any better or go away but I know that is going to be a real test for me. Think I may have to sneak on here for support (not supposed to use 'tinternet at work) if I feel like I am going to cave in.

Anyway, still have a while before I face that & I will not lose a quit because of her again!!!

    Hugs, G xxx

  • Go on Gaynor do it

If at first you don't succeed destroy all evidence of trying in the first place and start again.

Don't think of failed attempts just work on this one.

I'm having a bad day today (day 27) but I know now I never want to stick one of them things in my mouth again or put smoke in my lungs. The thing to remember which I have used right from the beginning (2nd December) is it was my decision to stop.

Go on you'll do it we're all behind you.

BTW I'm cold turkey, by that I don't mean left over from Christmas.:)

    Jack

  • Hi Jack.

Sorry you are having a hard day today. Just remember that you will get through this & it makes you stronger for the next time, if you have one, when you are finding it difficult.

Day 27 is brilliant going :D

I am looking forward to being able to get to the top of the stairs & not need to sit down as I am so out of breath. Also not to have that cough keeping me awake at night. Last time I stopped (properly) all that improved really quickly. Have had a few 'moments' this afternoon which where the times I would normally have gone for a ciggie so have felt a little like something is missing (which it is) but in a good way. Haven't asked hubby to get any for me on way home so all good :)

Not thinking of failed attempts is a good point to make, this is the one that counts :D :D

    Love G xx

  • Hi G, sorry don't know you name. After only 3 weeks (god just realized 4 weeks tomorrow wow) my lungs are clear in the morning, no coughing during the day, smell has returned (not so nice when you go to the loo) LOL, food tastes great and over the last few days I've had to dig my car out, walk for miles UPHILL and crikey what a difference in that short time. I'm discovering I can do all those things again.

It's a great feeling just to know you've made that decision to stop. so stick at it not because we are telling you to but because YOU want to.

    Jack xx

  • I will stick to it Jack, even though I have just had a screaming fit at inaminate objects in my kitchen & turned the air blue. Just as well my hubby is not home yet!!

Gonna do a bit of reading on why quit I think & calm myself down :p

  • Hi Never Stop Stmoking.

    Glad you are stopping again.

You can go it, we know it's hard, but keep with it.

    Good luck

    Ju xx:)

  • Good Luck Gaynor

    Hi Gaynor ,

Good luck this time , you have done it before and you can do it again . This is probably your best chance before going back to work.

Go for a walk , enjoy taking the clean air into your lungs instad of all the poison that you really DON'T want.

Just give yourself a fair chance at quitting once and for all , never take just one puff and after just a couple of days under your belt it will get easier.:)

Keeping everything crossed for you !:D
