Well at 3 months and 3 days I had my first Xmas drinks (bit early I know - but only date we could all do it). 6 of us - 1 smoker (not me!!).
So got to a bar - drink drink drink. Smoker pops out. Smoker pops back in. I couldn't believe how much I noticed the (unpleasant) smell of smoke!
This of course continued throught the day and evening - ah I remember it well.
But despite all the drinking - and the smoker being there - I didn't have a cig! (although to be honest I did have a niggling "want" for a few minutes - but easily controllable)
Thats it really - got a hangover today - feel crap - but also feel GREAT that I didn't have a cig.
It may be the season to be jolly.....but its not the season for smoking!!

Grat post mate
i know this sounds sad but i cannot wait for this Christmas as a non smoker first time in years and years want to wake up with a hangover but not fag breath, and not buying 60 on Christmas Eve to last till Boxing Day, nice one Atomic guy sorry about your hangover but worth it though
WOW well done you Xmas drinks xx?? and all with a fag that's great sorry you have a hangover though I can imagine how great that feels to you even with the hangover
A huge trigger out of the way as well and long before the festive season in case you want to practice some more
not buying 60 on Christmas Eve to last till Boxing Day
lol, ah the panic one christmas when all three of us brothers realised we had forgotten! jesus. you would have thought someone was having a heart attack with the panic that ensued.
thank god dont have to worry about that. Or try and hide it from my grandmas -
I totally agree with you atomic, you just dont realise its that strong. It makes me laugh to think they always pretended they didnt know! ah the wisdom and kindness of age.
Nicely done!!! well done!!.. christmas and the time for meeting friends n family will no doubt bring all of us into contact with folk amongst them who smoke. Each to their own, and its up to us as practicing quitters to prove that we can do christmas and all these other times of year without resorting to feeding an addiction
I fell into temptation last year and spoiled my best quit yet, but i sure won't this year thats for certain. My other 'alf has commented a few times now how i seem 'different' with this quit to the others and she asked me the straight question.. 'will you smoke this christmas?'... i didn't even pause to answer. I know i won't smoke, and i know i won't smoke ever again. Don't need nicotine in my life no more. To be corny? I chose life.
So much so it got me thinking... not been the chippy in ages..
___
Ok thats sorted, the OH also went OooooooooooooH! when i mentioned fish n chips hehe... so going the chippy later lol
Anyway, yeah christmas time.. it seems to be a time of year when we do things 'like we always do'.. and for me last year that included having a cigar after dinner.. so this year i'm well on my guard and as far as i'm concerned a cigar after xmas lunch may have been something i used to do, but i don't any more
not this year.. worked too hard on our quits to let a single cigar/cig ruin it eh
