Have reached 6 months and it feels fantastic. Wouldn't say I was a non-smoker rather than an ex smoker yet.
My quit is good and can't see me breaking it, however, I think complaicency will be my downfall, the moment I think this is a doddle is probably the day I make a stupid decision. Never ever want to go through the first few days again or the first month and although the quit has become easier and easier there isn't one day I'd like to do again.
So to all you starting off or recently given up smoking keep going, each day is easier than the last and each time you think that having a smoke would be nice/ok/not a problem, remember how hard it has been to get to where you are already and think about having to do it again. Never take another puff.

Absolutely outstanding that you are only 6 months away from being 1 year as a non smoker.
Keep the thought of not becoming complacent in your focus...especially as we are going into the Festive period. But absolutely no reason that you can't celebrate too.
Thanks to all for wishes, much apprciated, goodness knows what I'd do sometimes without this forum and the people on here. Muddle through I imagine, but you take the pain away from the journey.
6 months is superb! I think if you are ok with the term ex-smoker, just as I am then whats the difference? At least by saying ex-smoker you are acknowledging that you used to smoke anyway, and by doing so it serves as a personal reminder to you that you've quit and will remain so.
I say to folk i'm an ex-smoker, and i don't think there is anything to worry about .. tis just a title to give your smoking status. no biggie.
You though?!!! 6 months, and half a year quit! That in itself is awesome. I'm sure you have had some ups n downs on your quit like many of us have, but it will never take away this one wonderful achievement.. you are still quit.
Heres to you, and a nice christmas month ahead as a non/ex smoker. Only one rule: don't smoke. (you know this anyway)
I am so sorry to miss another. Bloody well done to you! Its a top hurdle to jump but you are right, keep on your toes, i've had a couple of big craves since and its a bit of a jolt! Work through it though and it settles down nice and easy.
you sound pretty laid back about it at this point which is great. I cant wait to be where you are. Ive read a lot of posts saying it starts to all feel a bit more normal at that point. Please dont get complacent, you would be mortified. Just keep remembering what a great thing it is you are achieving here.
1/2 a year is awesome. were all very proud of you!
