Hey Shez, welcome to the forum. For many of us here, this forum has been instrumental in our quit........ you will find plenty of support if you just ask for it. First few days/weeks of a quit can be tough but you're not alone, so just ask for help if you need it.
Biggest message on this forum is to educate yourself about why you smoke, and what to expect in the beginning stages of your quit...... all of us have gone through what you will go through and understanding the what's and why's will help you beat those initial craves. (check out members signatures for great links)
The time before a quit is usually the scariest..... you'll feel good when you've crossed off day 1 and 2, and 3..... be excited.... a life without being a slave to your addiction is ever so much better... it may not seem that way initially but trust that it will be so! You'll be just fine.
Well done on the decision to stop smoking a massive one to make for most of us
Don't be scared the thought is worse than the doing but use the time between now and Tuesday to start educating yourself read the post's on here and click the many links in our signatures they all help OK
Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members
Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good
You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathising with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad
Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here
Good luck witht he quit. before you start the quit it seems really scary like a step into the unknown of how you'll get by without cigarettes. The quit itself is easier than the fear of it. Just go for, educate yourself, be proud of ech day you go without a cigarette and each tiome you say no the cravings. It does get easier
Congrats on you quit next tuseday dont worry to much Im sure you will be fine. just take things a little at a time the first few day are the worse. But things get better really soon. Look forward to getting to know you.xxxxxx
Well done Shez - you've made the big decision already. I agree with the others, the time between deciding and actually quitting is the scariest. Once I'd actually not smoked at the first regular time, I felt really good and so will you. And let people know how you're doing, the good moments and the not-so-good moments
Scary really but after 20+ daily for too many years I feel enough is enough.
Just hope I can do it!
Gonna use patches, stocked up.
Reading loads of advice here to help me.
Hope to get to know you and good luck to all quitters.
Shez
