Dawn,

Welcome, and congrats on getting through your first few days. Well done on this so far, its a good thing you are doing here, and the pay-offs will be all too apparent once you experience them. I cannot recommend enough sticking at this no matter what.

Ok your two days done, so good on you, but please toughen up now for day 3 and 4.. i've always said the first 4 days are the testing days and I told myself on this quit.. get to day 5 and it will be easier. Well it did get easier.. and it will for you too.. but stick at it. No matter how things seem over the next day or two.. keep strong and determined.

I look forward to seeing how you get on, and wish you well.

Good on ya Dawn :)

Day 3 may not be all you expect...sorry, I don't shilly shally :o Day 3 is the last day of getting the nicotine out of your system. It can be a bit problematic. But no worries. You've had loads of days before...just last 24 hours. Get this one past and it'll be onwards and upwards to a non smoking you. Course I do hope that it'll be fine day for you.

Keep busy, busy, busy.

Best wishes,

Cav

Welcome Dawn to the forum and great job on getting through the first 2 days! Don't listen to the boys..... day 3 WILL be a good day! There will be some physical withdrawal but it's not more or less than the first 2 days and you completed those just fine! Keep a positive outlook and your quit will go just fine. Ask for support on here if you get down or have a hard time. It will be a good day ;)

Hey Dawn, I recently strapped my bicycle to the back of my car and went to a park for a ride. The route I chose caused me to arrive back at my car on the uphill side. I was tired and could see the finish but I had the hardest part of the ride ahead of me. Please hang in there. You will break through the barrier and just like that things will become easier. The bonds we all are breaking do not go quietly. The journey is a rough one. The arrival is a nice one. You can do this.

Hi Many thanks for all the good advice, Well day three so far has not been too bad, however have been on my own for most of the day. Hard to argue with yourself. Saying that my aunt who quit many moons ago taped a fag to the inside of her cupboard every time she felt the pangs the cupboard door was opened and she hurled abuse and swore the little stick was not going to best her. It didnt. Guess what is taped on a door an I ve been doing.:D

Three years ago I quit and this lasted a year stupidly (Kicking myself) I started again, The first longhaul holiday with out the kids and I felt awful and missed them loads. The smell of other peoples smoke evoked all the so called calming effects of smoking and the rest is history.
