I have just slipped over into my 9th month ( 8 months completed)
Yes it is hard at first, but I promise it will get easier as time goes by.
Keep at it
Stay strong.

Thank you for that great inspiration. Can't wait until I have a few weeks/ months behind me. At the moment it feels like I'm just hanging on [8 days] but one day at a time will see us climbing that mountain too.

Thanks Freshstart, that's really encouraging to hear.
After all those years of smoking (quite heavily too) to go cold turkey is so impressive.
My mum smokes a similar amount to the figure you smoked and she's 64. I'm in the early days of 3 weeks smoke free and she's asking me how I'm coping and what health benefits I'm feeling. I believe she's keen herself but not quite ready 'enough' to commit just yet.
How are you finding things health wise 8/9 months down the smoke free road?
Cheers
Pol
Thanks for that freshstart.
I've completed three months, but its nice to hear how people further along the path are doing.
You must be an "oldie" now. LOL
Congratulations on two thirds of a year being free of nicotine freshstart. Certainly is proof that sticking at it pays off in the end. well done you, and good luck to all new quitters, you'll get there just as freshstart has.. just stick at it.
I would just like to agree with Freshstart that it does get easier as time passes im at the same stage and its the best thing i ever done.
