Six weeks

Just a quickie, as they say, i have reached six weeks today. The reason it is significant for me is that my dad, who quit bout 25 years ago, told me that he felt the first six weeks were the worst, and once he had done that he felt he had "cracked it".

So here I am dad, I "cracked it" too.

I can faithfully say there is no way I would be at this stage if it were not for this forum. All the people I have come across on here have helped me in some way. So thank you.

And to all the newbies, it is so worth it.:D

  • Well done on 6 weeks.. especially if there is a major milestone attached to it that you believe in. Helps to strengthen a quit alot that does.

Good luck for the weeks ahead also.

  • Great story and congratulations on 6 weeks. I watch for your posts since we are so close in quit dates so keep it up. God I hope its like your dads quit LOL. Weeks 4 and 5 for me were sooooo easy and in the last 2 days I've been having SERIOUS cravings. No where near grabing fag(OK first time using that word, I'm American so that really sounds bad to me LOL)but man I'm thinking about it more then I have in 2 or weeks.Anyway I'd like to add thanks to the forms and everyone on them as well, A BIG PART of being able to keep away from smoking has been this form and the peeps on it.

  • Hi Bev,

Glad to hear that you have got to week six and "cracked" it.

I too felt like that and still do, but just be on your guard, as you never know when complacency can strike. But I know you won't fail, jsut as I havent.
