Stopped smoking 4 days ago now, cold turkey and doing ok.

I don't really have bad withdrawal symptoms so far but I don't feel any better either.

I read I should know regain my sense of smell and my breathing should get better.

Hi, and welcome, not quite sure what to call you, but hello you.

I did CT also and i am on day 41 now. It took me a long time before i started to feel better. I never felt bad as a smoker, i never coughed or any of that, however after about 2 weeks stopped, i began to see a difference i could walk the dog longer, i could breath better at the top of the hill. Just little things but all because i didn't smoke.

The main things i noticed was i didn't smell, my kids didn't stand on the bloody ashtray and make a mess.

I am sure if you look there are many good things happening.

Read the links on some of the sigs, it will really help.

It is the right choice, remember that and never doubt it.

Good luck and please keep us posted as to how you are getting on.

Hi All

I am new to this! Finding the messages of support to others helpful. I have smoked for about 15 years. First time i have really wanted and tried to stop. Feel great after day 4.

Well done on day 4, a real achievement.

Everyone is different but I noticed changes to my sence of smell a couple of days ago. The stink from other peoples smoking is really awfull. Can't belive I feel like that and feels very hypocritical but it really does stink.:o

Good luck....x

Welcome Sandrine and the very best of luck with your quit.

All i can offer in extra advice here is tell you that every quit is likely to be different, some folk experience differnet positives and negatives to a quit at different times, but on the whole many do tend to happen around the same time.

Don't over worry about things that are not happening so soon in your quit, but instead give yourself alot of credit for the main thing that IS happening, and that you are quit, and you haven't smoked. You've done well so far, day 4 is very good progress, but keep this effort up and don't let your guard down.

I'm certain the positives will find you soon enough, and you'll really enjoy the moments once you realise what you are gaining back again. Quitting smoking is not about loss, its all about gain, and you will soon enough.
