Hey Paul....well done its such a good feeling isn't it!! I'm with you ....I cant see myself putting another ciggie in my mouth ever again....something has hit home at last:rolleyes:....Cheers Kez.
Think of it like this.. you've stopped feeding your inner demon.. you gone 22 days without feeding it, now its throwing a hissy fit.. so its dug into its bag of tricks... pulls out the... 'flash cards which show smoking on them', and its holding one up every so often to disrupt your thoughts... 'that'll get you!' right??? WRONG!!!!! Teach that Demon you mean business this time, you are not going to feed it what it wants.. if you fed it even 1, or even a bit of one, it then moves on to convince you that it needs more.. and then you just end up right back where you started.
So not a single one.. nor a morsel will you throw in its direction, your Paul McStubborn, you are not the feeder of demons.. particularly not the one you used to have to dinner.. move on, smile and be happy, your free from this... just keep it that way.
and its the end of your 4th week in a few days i believe?
Thats gotta be a nice thought to have
Glad you got through that, i keep saying that 'what a difference a day makes' but sometimes its just an hour.. and less (10 mins). depends on the moment.
The whole trick is not to start believing the lies we believed for years.. there is a much better truth out there.. and its a whole lot better for ya.
Thats right Jase. Another 2 days and I'll be into week 5.
I havent even thought about smoking at all this week.
Im off on holiday on Sunday for a week and when I get back, i'll be re-joining a gym, and can't wait to get on the cardio machines (as well as the weights).
I'll also look forward to doing more with the kids rather than saying to them "wait, daddy's going to have a fag first".
My 2 year old daughter was wearing me out when i was still a smoker, now she's seeing alot more fun because i no longer run out of breath. We run in the woods, i chase her up n down the hallway.. around the back garden.. everything.. and to hear her giggling and having fun makes quitting smoking all the more worth it. I still get knackered, just not as quick.. i hope that improves even more but its a whole lot better than i used to be thats for sure!
hi amsie well done you on quit , yeah like jase i also find i have more fun with kids( 2 & 5 year )not only energy wise but dosnt get in the way (eg nipping off for a fag) a big inconvenience now gone like magic xx brilliant keep on x
But those times are a changing.. you are changing, you are gaining more energy, and are able to do more now, and it will get better and better. keep making this positive step and don't ever ... EVER.. look back. You've sacrificed nothing, you've gained everything... keep going.
