I posted only in the last week or so about me having a big problem with sleep. In fact, it was sleep problems while quitting that led me to google the problem on the internet and it brought me to this forum, i had no intention of joining a forum when i set out on this quit.. but when i saw what a lovely bunch of folk that were on these forums it made me realise, i wasn't alone in my experiences .. and i was really glad i registered for a forum account too rather than just reading the posts as a casual browser.

In my first week and a bit i had the most insane dreams I ever had, and i would wake up during or after each of those dreams in the most wakeful state possible and thats when i discovered how much I hated wood pigeons :) Oh yes, once you wake between 4 and 6 am you hear all the birds impolitely telling you that they are going to sing their song all day and that noise they make will annoy you more than the dripping of a tap, the knocking of a water pipe, and any other noise you end up listening to while wide awake wishing you were back asleep.

I had the sweats in the night, the bad dreams and the wakefulness and no shotgun to deal with the wood pigeons :)

It does pass though, and i haven't had a bad nights sleep in a while now, although i do keep an ear out i'm sure for if my 2 year old daughter wakes in the night.

Day 4 is about the right time when your body is making it biggest adjustments in your quit and yes you are indeed getting rid of the toxins. Ride through it.. you have to, it gets a heck of alot easier, and i can tell you that from absolute experience.

Keep going, the sleep you need will be yours soon enough.

No problem Bradders, I'm no expert, i just apply common sense and experience to my posts, sometimes long replies sometimes short, but always if i write a post, i take the time to write a reply i've thought about properly.

It helps me take my mind off my quit and if i can pass on any advice to others, then i've achieved something else wonderful that day :)

Good luck on your 5th day and day's 6 and 7 too.. then you get to 1 week down. Go you!!!!!!!

Hey bradders!

Just offering a bit of support here - I too had the night sweats - in fact sometimes they come back even now.

If it's any consolation, when I run now I sweat buckets! Never used to - I think it's great - my body is finally working as it should. :D

Hi Bradders,

Are you using patches?

Im on day 4, and tbh, after years of insomnia problems, i've slept like a baby these past few days. In fact, i've never felt better, sleeping properly, getting straight up in the morning with a clear mind feeling wide awake.

Regards

Paul

Patches

Hi Amsie

was using patches for the first two days then i thought fffffff it going o get this nicotine out quickly rather than prolong my agony , if it means me losing a few nights decent slepp to quit this crap i dont mind (can always sleep at work haha)
